@5T33Z0 One minor personal quible on OCAT. It would be nice to have OCAT save the "Sync" window size when closing it/quitting the app. I like growing it out a bit as the default size seems to pinch the entries in the two panels (kexts and OpenCore). Currently, it will always revert to the default size on the next launch.

I just used OCAT to update my EFI from OC 0.8.8 > 0.8.9.

That was easy!

Thanks for the write up @trs96 ! It usually takes me about 30 min to do it by hand, but this time it only took me about 5 min, and that was mainly because I was checking and double checking whether I was doing it correctly.

Hi, with OCAT, has anyone had reliable experience with the System Name -> Generate function? This default populates on the PI panel, the System Name (SMBIOS based), Serial, MLB and ROM values.

Is this as good/same as the GenSMBIOS tool normally done manually? I just applied it on a build I am working thru = not seen any major issues but then i have not started using icloud or installing legacy apps or such. I actually replaced the ROM value, with my MAC address, as the ROM population seems utterly random.

I guess the question i am asking is : is OCAT ok for setting this, direct to the EFI on the installed machine?

It is ok to use as long as you check the 'Coverage' with Apple to insure the S/N is not in circulation as one of their own.
