Z690 Chipset Motherboards and Alder Lake CPU

I have 12700K. I dont use CPUfriend and goes well.
I had to use SSDT-GPRW to not to wake after sleep, but your problem is different.

I encourage you to do a new USB map with HackIntool.
Thanks I will give HackIntool a try.

Have you checked your Geekbench score? My system was stable but was getting heavily reduced scores without CPUFriend + iMacPro frequency vectors: 1100~ instead of 1800~, that's a big difference. I did a lot of testing in a lot of different configurations, I found out the best combination is this: all cores enabled + CPUTopologyRebuild.kext + CPUFriend.kext with iMacPro frequency vectors + -ctrsmt boot arg + a setting in BIOS I don't remember the name. Next time I'm in the BIOS, I'll look into it and edit the comment (something about turbo boost) that gave an average (over 10 tests) of 1887 for single core, 13480 for multicore (that's still less then windows and some other build here on tonymac though).

Not using CPUFriend and CPUTopologyRebuild doesn't resolve the sleep issue. Anyway, as for SSDT-GPRW i tried that, too, and it didn't help either.

Please check “SecureBootModel” setting in config.plist. Try (a) default and (b) disabled.

Thank you so much ! I changed from default to disabled and it is not looped any more....

I found a great deal for DDR4 4400. Is it worth the upgrade from 3200 for my 13900KF?

Hello everyone,
I recently successfully installed 12.6.1 on this system with OpenCore (0.8.6):
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte Z690M DS3H DDR4
  • CPU: i7 12700K
  • GPU: AMD RX 5700XT 8GB
  • RAM: 2x8GB Kingstone Fury DDR4
  • SSD: Crucial P3 Plus 500GB NVMe
  • No bluetooth/Wifi/thunderbolt devices, or any other extra device
...
I encourage you to do a new USB map with HackIntool.
Success!
Mapping the USB ports with Hackintool didn't resolve the issue, but user Not_Too_Shabby replied to my post on InsanelyMac (identical to my initial comment here) suggesting to try and downgrade the BIOS to a version prior to the 13000 series support introduction, and it worked! I downgraded from F20 to F4 (the newest version before the 13000 series support for this board) and the issue disappeared without any other action needed, it even resolved the issue with USBWakeFixup wanting a power button press to wake up both the system and the screen (now it correctly wakes up with a single keyboard press).

If anyone else is having the same issue (system hangs when going to sleep the second time since boot) on a Gigabyte board, downgrade the BIOS to the newest version before the one introducing 13000 series CPUs support, no other action is needed if everything else is setup correctly, this issue is confirmed on Gigabyte Z690M DS3H (my board) and Z690 Aero G, as well as Z790 Aero G which unfortunately has no BIOS version to downgrade to resolve the issue (at least as far as Not_Too_Shabby says).

Thanks to everyone who replied.

Glad it worked, but this doesn't seem promising for trying to use 13000 series processors with Gigabyte boards. Hopefully a solution will be found or I will need to return the MB.

Thank you again! I'm sorry I can't do anything to help with the issue, sleep worked in Windows, there must be something that can be done OpenCore/macOS side.

@MbryMbry @ori69 - You guys are both running 13900KF processors and Gigabyte motherboards. Are you having an issue with the system hanging when going to sleep the second time? It seems to be effecting the Z690 Aero G MBs that have upgraded to the BIOS that supports the 13000 series processors.

I also have the issue with my Z790 Aero G. If you aren't having the sleep issue, than it is possible to use the 13000 series processor with Gigabyte MBs w/o the sleep issue.
