Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

iMac20,2 also doesn't work.
Some questions about the sleep problem:
  • Is Wake for Network Access unchecked in System Preferences --> Energy Saver? It should be unchecked.
  • Does the system fail to enter sleep (i.e. it begins the sleep process; you hear a click; then the system turns back on immediately)?
  • Does the system fail to remain asleep (i.e. it sleeps, but wakes up after 20-30 seconds)?
  • Does the system sleep, but reboots on wakeup?
  • Have you tried disconnecting (a) all USB devices except keyboard and mouse, and (b) all Thunderbolt devices?
  • Which devices are connected to the internal USB 2.0 headers?
  • Is the following ACPI patch enabled?

  • Is Wake for Network Access unchecked in System Preferences --> Energy Saver? It should be unchecked. - Yes
  • Does the system fail to enter sleep (i.e. it begins the sleep process; you hear a click; then the system turns back on immediately)? - Display turns off but never goes to sleep.
  • Does the system fail to remain asleep (i.e. it sleeps, but wakes up after 20-30 seconds)? - Manual sleep yes, more like 5 seconds.
  • Does the system sleep, but reboots on wakeup? - No
  • Have you tried disconnecting (a) all USB devices except keyboard and mouse, and (b) all Thunderbolt devices? - Yes, TB card is removed as well.
  • Which devices are connected to the internal USB 2.0 headers? - Nothing atm, I disconnected my TB add-on card.
  • Is the following ACPI patch enabled? - Yes see attached config.
This was all tested with MacPro7,1. iMacPro1,1 works for some reason.

XhciPortLimit should be disabled :)

XhciPortLimit should be disabled :)
Supposed to be set to true with SSDT-UIAC-Z690-AERO-G-ALL-PORTS-HS14.aml, not set to false.

If you're using the original Intel WiFi/BT module, then it's best to use this USB port map SSDT because it disables Intel Bluetooth on HS14:

SSDT-UIAC-Z690-AERO-G-ALL-PORTS.aml

You're currently using:

SSDT-UIAC-Z690-AERO-G-ALL-PORTS-HS14.aml

...which enables HS14. Let's see if this change helps.

Changed to ALL-PORTS as seen in the screenshot. Screen wakes immediately after it turns off for manual sleep. Turns off on timer sleep completely, immediately wakes.

XHCIPortLimit is enabled.

Using MacPro7,1. A pmset log attached.

I am using the original Intel WIFI/BT Module.

Three comments:
  • SSDT-GPRW.aml cannot be used without the associated ACPI patch so it's best to uncheck this.
    Screen Shot 2022-06-15 at 4.21.55 PM.png
  • Incidentally, the GPRW patch looks like this:
Screen Shot 2022-06-15 at 4.29.16 PM.png

  • Find: 47505257 02
  • Replace: 58505257 02
  • Comment: change Method(GPRW,2,N) to XPRW, pair with SSDT-GPRW.aml
The second issue is the presence of this line in the sleep log:
PID 1108(bluetoothd) Released PreventUserIdleSystemSleep "com.apple.bluetooth.bluetool.script" 00:00:30 id:0x0x1000083e3 [System: DeclUser SRPrevSleep IPushSrvc kCPU kDisp]
  • If USB port HS14 is disabled, why is there a log entry for Bluetooth? Further, your config.plist does not use BlueToolFixup.kext.
  • If there are multiple boot disks presents, could your system be booting from the wrong disk?
  • We can press and hold F12 at Gigabyte splash screen to open the BIOS boot manager and specifically choose a boot disk. We can also go to BIOS Setup --> Boot, and check the boot order.
  • It would also be good to run IORegistryExplorer and scroll down to XHC section, then check if HS14 exists. If it does, then the port has not been disabled.
The third comment is the presence of this in the sleep log:
Wake from Normal Sleep [CDNVA] : due to XDCI USBW RP09 RP05 RP08/UserActivity Assertion Using AC
It's best to address the first 2 items above then see if the sleep problem still persists.

ACPI patch helped so thanks for pointing that out. I don't think it was enabled in your original OC 0.7.7 EFI, so I never implemented it.

It sleeps now however, USB wake will not turn the monitor(s) back on and I have to press the power button for full wake.

I tried SSDT-USBW.aml with USBWakeFixup.kext. My mouse and kb are connected to the rear 4 port USB 3.0 hub HS08/SS06. They power on but the computer stays asleep.

My iojones is also in the zip. I saw that HS14 showed up in it, I have no idea how. My current EFI with the ACP patch with manual sleep working is also in the zip.

Yeah, sleep doesn't work on my z690-AERO-G-DDR4 with MacPro7,1. It does with iMacPro1,1 but that smbios is from 2017. I'm on OC 0.8.1.
I just deleted my EFI and downloaded Casey's old 0.8.0 again and updated it via HackinDrom, went into Hackintool and under power it was showing red for proximity wake and hibernate so I reset and fixed sleep, rebooted and tested sleep with 7.1 SMbios and it works

Cool I'll try that.

Still not sure why I'm only seeing HS01-HS14 USB and none of the SS ports at all this time around. lolz.. yikes.
