Z690 Chipset Motherboards and Alder Lake CPU

10th generation actually has the highest power consumption, and it's getting slightly better afterwards.
The availability of Z490 motherboards being the most critical issue you probably need to make your mind quickly. Is there a specific benchmark that Z690 users could run to anwser your performance question?
I'm pretty curious to know if Speedometer 2.0 https://browserbench.org/Speedometer2.0/ is any faster than M1s with 12900K... really

I posted a modded CpuTopologySync.kext that fixes Alder Lake's core and thread recognition before, now I renamed it to CpuTopologyRebuild.kext to avoid confusion and I created a repository for it.

If you have the difficulty with performance with E-Cores enabled, try this kext.
See the README on the repo for more information.

( Notice : -ctssmt boot arg is renamed to -ctrsmt because of kext name change. )

@scj312 I haven't managed to install High Sierra yet, so could you try patches.plist included in the repo?

As I've said before, I tried getting OC to work with my current system to no avail and ended up going back to Clover. Everything, from following video tutorials blindly to manual SSDTs and reading every letter of the official guide and nothing seemed to work. I don't want to repeat that experience and I don't have time to fumble about.

@StefanAM Are you still willing to help?
Sure! Enumerate in detail your hardware, update to the latest BIOS (F7c). It is your rig already assembled?

Can you share an EFI of what you did to make the B660 work? I've got a i5-12400f and Asrock B660M-HDV on order....

How did you fix configlock? What's the 'manual' fix?
The 'manual' fix CGF LOCK:
Kernel/Quirks

There will be an additional option in the Opecore menu that shows if you have locked or unlocked CFG.

Describe the specific problem and someone can provide suggestions.

Hi, it’s great hearing back from you . I already put together the new PC, migrated all my data to the new HDD and installed Windows on one of the three NVME m.2 drives I put in (Samsung 970 EVO 500 Gb). I still need to iron out some issues with the monitor still showing up as Generic PnP and install all my Windows apps, but that part I can do on my own . After assembling all the parts, the computer wouldn’t post to BIOS, as the motherboard wasn’t recognizing the CPU and the RAM sticks. I had to flash it with the latest firmware using qflash+ and then it worked! (Quite the adventure, I was using a defective USB stick at first, wasted 3 hours on that ).

Here’s a list of the components:
- motherboard: Gigabyte z690 Aorus Master
- processor: Intel i9-12900KF
- GPU: Sapphire Nitro+ AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT SE
- RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin SDRAM DDR5 5600 (PC5-44800) CL36-36-36-76 1.20V Dual Channel Desktop Memory Model F5-5600U3636C16GA2-TZ5K
- SSD: SAMSUNG (MZ-V7E500BW) 970 EVO SSD 500GB - M.2 NVMe

I didn’t get a Wi-Fi card or a Thunderbolt one yet as I don’t see a use case for either at the moment. I’ll get them if the need arises. Do you need any other details about the hardware?
