Gigabyte B550 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + AMD Ryzen 7 3700X + AMD RX 5600 XT

Also, I believe I had Intel wifi drivers on the EFI when my tb adapter was working. The other thing that may have changed is I added a NVMe Gen 4 that Ii put Windows on. I may pull that NVMe Gen 4 tmw tomorrow to see if there is any change.

Anybody running Adobe apps should have a look HERE. This is a far better solution than the previous patches we had to use. Everything you need is in the (updated) post 1. Neural Filters, Liquify etc now work in Photoshop, Camera tracking working in After Effects.

No luck, I tried and pull my NVMe Gen 4 out and tried BIOS f11. I don't know what happened. I'm super burnt from trying so many things....it worked in a earlier version of Big Sur or something. It did work at some point. this sucks, and I'm sick of users having to go thru this like getting Apple to Ethernet adapter to work just to get a sound card going in there machine. In the end all this crap hurts the end user from creating music.

iI need a break. I'm super dark from this.

But a Hackintosh isn't a Macintosh and macOS has never been designed to work on anything but Apple hardware, never mind an AMD system that Apple has never had outside of their own lab.

If it is so important to you, then maybe you would be better off biting the bullet and buying a real Mac. Building a Hack should be considered a hobby, and a challenge, and not relied on for business use, if that is what you use it for.

@CaseySJ, I'm baaaaack ;)

I just got the Vision-D installed, but I'm not having luck getting my Thunderbolt devices to pop up, and bluetooth is not working. Would you mind look through my ioreg?

I am on v F10 on the BIOS, with the required settings double checked. However the PCI-E Wifi/BT card is not detected in Big Sur

Ah, the saga resumes! Let's address Thunderbolt first.
  • IOReg shows Thunderbolt is enabled and the SSDT is also correctly applied.
  • Because of the warm-boot issue noted in the screenshot below (from Post 1), please try hot plugging the Thunderbolt device.
  • Also, what is the make/model of the Thunderbolt device?

@CaseySJ, I had only tried with cold boots, but now I just tried turning it on/off after waking from sleep, and BOOM! It friggin' works! This is so great! It says that there's no drivers loaded in the System Report, but maybe that is because it is just the Lacie Drive? Anyway, it works! Thanks for the help.

It would be nice to have the Wifi/BT-issue fixed, but I can live without it working since the BT m2.card should arrive in 7-10 days.

That’s better. One down, one to go.

Regarding “No drivers are loaded” please see:

Regarding WiFi/BT card, please remind me of the make/model. Which slot is it installed in?

It's fantastic! :)

It is an original Apple 943602CS card, adapted to a PCI-E. It is currently installed in the bottom slot. I have included a picture of it. Here is a link to more info

This card did not appear in the IOReg file you posted earlier.
  • Is the card properly seated in the PCIe slot?
  • Has the card worked in another system?
  • If yes to both, then it may be a good idea to perform CMOS Reset on the B550 Vision D (which requires BIOS parameters to be configured again). Then post IOReg file again and let's see if there's any difference.
