Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming build with working NVRAM

I'm curious though.
A dock like the one you suggested through the Amazon links would only partially work on a hackintosh.
If I connect the USB Type C to say an Asus Rog Strix Z390-I Gaming then I would not get Ethernet, HDMI/DP. am I correct?

Thanks.

I have not personally tried one of those devices, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I have a Dell MKS14 monitor stand which has USB 3 hub, USB-to-Ethernet, SD card reader/writer, and USB-to-DisplayPort included and everything works. *The USB-to-DisplayPort requires installation of drivers.

Wait...
I'm confused...
Are you saying I get one of those US$ 30 thingy and I will get DP video out of it and ethernet as well?
You mentioned for DP out you need drivers. Are there MacOS drivers?

As I said, I haven't tested the ones listed on Amazon so I can't say for sure.

On my Dell MKS14, the DisplayPort out is nothing more than a DisplayLink video out. Drivers can be found on the DisplayLink site. I've never had a use it. I only have one monitor.

Holy cow...I'm just waking up from a dream...
DisplayLink has MacOS drivers...
thanks, I didn't know.

So, questions:
  • Any guesses for which fans are which?

I checked which fans were running by opening the side panel of my case...

I know that "Fan 1" in iStat Menus is SYS_FAN3 on the motherboard.
"Fan 2" in iStat Menus is either SYS_FAN1 or SYS_FAN2.
"Fan 2" is definitely NOT CPU_FAN.

When I've run the machine without the side panels on, I think all of the fans were running. The only possible exception to that would be the 2nd fan in the be quiet! CPU Cooler. It is embedded in the center of the cooling fins and was a bear to install, so I have no plans to mess with it. I mounted the SATA drive in the top slot of the drive cage and tied down the SATA and power cables in order to prevent interference with the leading be quiet! fan. Of the 3 fans that show up in the listing, their speeds are all different. #1 is in the mid-300's, #2 is in the upper 500's and #3 is in the upper 600's. Those are pretty consistent with probably less than a 5% difference from what I've seen. The only thing that I would guess is that #3 is the CPU Cooler. The cables for both fans come together in a "Y", so I assume that their speed should be the same...

I have four fans:
Two on the Noctua CPU cooler. (CPU_FAN and SYS_FAN2)
One 180mm fan mounted to the front intake of the PC case. (SYS_FAN3)
One 120mm fan mounted in the rear of the PC case for exhaust. (SYS_FAN1)

When I'm just surfing the internet, only the front 180mm intake fan and the fan in the middle of the Noctua spin.
The fan mounted to the front of the Noctua doesn't spin and the rear exhaust fan doesn't spin.
Even the fans on my video card don't spin.

Well, I took the first step towards retiring one of my hackintoshes and returning to Apple made hardware... I took advantage of the current crypto mining craze and sold my Radeon VII for about twice what I paid for it. So, I'm back to my flashed Vega 56 Red Dragon for now.
