nope

as you didn't upload your efi folder :)

Hey @Feartech, are the attached basic kexts for booting compatible with Big Sur? Or should I swap them out? Thanks!

should be good as i tested the OpenCore and the kexts in the beta versions

haven't had chance to update OC or the kexts as of yet :)
So does this mean that when we download Catalina with OpenCore using gibMacOs, it uses OpenCore 0.6.3 (to directly update to Big Sur from the app store)? Or do we need to manually upgrade OpenCore after the Catalina recovery install to 0.6.3? Thanks!

my opencore attached to post 1 is still 0.6.2 which still works for Big Sur

if you use gibmacos to download it, it will be 0.6.3 but you will have to change the config, plist around though, up to you if you want to use the later version, but make sure to edit config.plist with latest entries

Oh, interesting, I thought 0.6.3 is required for Big Sur, nice to see 0.6.2 is compatible too :). Just curious though, if I used gibMacOS for OpenCore, what config.plist changes should I make?

not sure as i am using 0.6.3 on my laptop but 0.6.2 worked ok for big sur beta versions, but no one has complained it hasn't worked yet :)

you will have to compare the config.plist from the sample to the one from post 1 and make any new amendments, ie some quirks/entries get added and also removed

when you download opencore from github, it comes with a utility called ocvalidate

open up terminal, drag the ocvalidate into terminal window, then drag the config.plist you want to use to that window and hit enter, it will scan for any issues of missing entries

there is also a ocvalidate for windows as well

Sorry about that, here it is...I also included in the .zip the two .txt opencore log files in case they are of use
