[Guide] Lenovo Legion y530-y540 Laptop on Catalina 10.15

Don't know if people still check this thread. But anyone here faced any issues booting after a BIOS update? Even after changing the settings in the BIOS didn't fix it. I rolled back to my old version and it was fixed. I found it weird that no one mentioned it here.

This is what I get in Verbose mode when i try to boot after the BIOS update.

I updated it to 9VCN17WW if it matters.

Will add problem reporting files after this. Now I think about it, some flag could be misconfigured in Clover.

Edit: Fixed Grammar

I have gone ahead and updated my Y530 to Big Sur 11.0.1.
Performance is much better than the Beta, and so far everything is working apart from the Trackpad, which is not recognised at all. I switched from using Clover to Opencore, and updated OpenCore, Lilu, Whatevergreen, AppleALC and VirtualSMC kexts to most recent versions before installing Big Sur.

Great work ! Can you maybe share your updated EFI with us? Because I really want to try Big Sur.

Regarding big sur, can you run the update and update that way without any issues or do you have to do a complete install from scratch ?

Either works.

Here is what I did -

- Downloaded the most recent EFI from https://github.com/xiaoMGitHub/LEGION_Y7000Series_Hackintosh
- Replaced the old 0.5.7 OpenCore included in that EFI to latest version 0.6.3 from https://github.com/acidanthera/OpenCorePkg
- Updated Lilu, Whatevergreen, AppleALC and VirtualSMC kexts in the EFI to latest versions from Github
- Formatted external USB drive as APFS with GUID partition map and copied the updated EFI folder to the EFI partition
- Downloaded the Big Sur installer from App Store and ran it, choosing my current system drive as the target.
- When rebooting, hit F12 and chose the USB drive with OpenCore EFI partition as boot device. OpenCore automatically chose to boot from the update partition.
- Once the installation was finished I had no sound, but after running "sudo kextcache -i /" and restarting, sound was back.
- Copied the EFI partition from the USB drive to my SSD

Trackpad still not working, other than that everything seems ok. However I've only been using it for a day so there may be other issues I just haven't found yet.

I got lost here already. Latest EFI from github doesn't have opencore in the downloaded clover zipped file. It has a separate zip for opencore EFI. So how can I replace it? Got the latest OC from the 2nd link, by the way.

Edit:
I downloaded the OC EFI 0.5.7 instead of the clover and that EFI is booting properly. But if I replaced the OC folder with the updated 0.6.3, that's where I'm having problems. Which files/folder exactly did you update from opencorepkg 0.6.3 to the xiaomgithub's oc efi?

Also, I couldn't find the device properties of my audio to add the alc-delay. Can you tell me how can I add it? Clover configurator? How? Thanks!
