Try Mac fan control app and change the curve maybe... I know that no matter how hard I pushed my mac mini it never really pushed the fan up so I used Mac fan and changed the control points and RPM for the fan and it ran much cooler, albeit much louder.

I'll give it a try, thanks. I have a couple Mac Minis as well and they never really get loud or seem to heat up. I guess the MBP has been heating up since Mojave or thereabouts, I think more than the CPU it's the GPU that is suffering from the newer OSs. It's an opinion not based on any facts, just a thought !!!!!

Finally the main event of the year!

There are lots of rumors already about which Macs will get the Apple Silicon treatment first and whether or not that treatment will include a redesign. However, most rumors suggest that only low-end Macs will be Apple-Siliconified. If so, the real excitement will have to wait for next year.

Nevertheless, let's see if at least one 'Pro' model is updated on November 10.

I have owned Windows laptops with touchscreens for years and after using the touch capability once, I never used it again. On a laptop, I still agree with Apple that it does not make sense to add touch capability to a pure laptop. It does, however, make sense to add touch capability to a laptop that folds 180-degrees or detaches from the keyboard.

Buy a Thunderbolt3 to displayport cable or adaptor. There are a few that say up to 8k could not find one for up to 5k but since there is a 8k one I would just go with that.

Everyone knows that Apple Silicon Mac laptops will be featured today at the Apple event. This is why I doubt that is the "One More Thing" referred to in the title.

I think that today Apple will give us the first public viewing of Apple Glass(es). That is why they're calling it the "One More Thing" event. Not that those are ready to put up for sale next week on Apple.com. They'll probably give a vague date in 2021 when they will supposedly be ready. Maybe mid 2021 or so. It's all part of the product marketing. When you get millions of people wanting to own something they can't have yet, it makes them desire it and think about it even more. I'm not planning on spending over $500 on these next year but will be interested to see how well they work. My prediction for today's event.

With under an hour to go, my feeling (i.e. wishful thinking) is that One More Thing refers not only to this event being the one last thing for the year, but within the event itself One More Thing will be revealed. That thing might be Air Tags.

After the recent failure of "Air Power" charging mat, I believe Apple will only reveal products that are ready.
