Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming build with working NVRAM

I got bored tonight and decided to see if Big Sur worked on this motherboard...

The good news is that it installs fine and most things seem to be working.

The bad news is that networking is completely broken.
My AQC107 10GBase-T NIC doesn't even show up in System Preferences.
The Intel i219V shows up in System Preferences but never connects. (IntelMausiEthernet.kext is loaded)
I am unable to turn on Wi-Fi on the BCM94360CS2.
The only thing that connected was a USB to Ethernet adaptor.

The strange part is that the motherboard ethernet and Wi-Fi work fine on my Asus Z370 motherboard. Both EFI folders are nearly identical...

@pastrychef
Big Sur full work for me :)

Thanks. Figured it out.

All I had to do was change the following setting... config.plist > Kernel > Quirks > DisableIOMapper to Yes. This is the first time VT-d has presented itself as a problem for me with macOS.

Now the I219V and Wi-Fi are working. However, the AQC107 remains broken. It doesn't even show up in System Preferences > Network.

Did you turn off vt-d or just add that "Quirks" and that did it? I am an update junky and would like to do the update.

I did the supplemental update, today to 19G2021 and I had to switch out my MSI rx5700 to my asus rx580.
I wonder when they will fix that. :(

What happened with the RX 5700?

Just the Quirk was enough. No changes needed in BIOS.

Would it be compatible with a Z170 motherboard?

No. It requires either Z370 or Z390.

However, there are ways to hack the BIOS for Z170 and Z270 to make it work. I have never tried this. I have only read about it. Here's some info...
