Looks like it, for it to function in the bios under the security tab enable Thunderbolt as Legacy mode and have the device plugged in at boot.View attachment 478714
Does this mean thunderbolt is supported?
I don't think that's the issue, is it possible its the device you are using to test?thanks for the verification.
what about the two rows for HS01? which is also the usb C port.
could it be the reason of my issue?
@RLJ63 I have an issue where sound is unavailable after sleep. It works fine on a normal boot, but goes away after the NUC wakes up. Do you have the same issue on yours.
After some reading I found some info regarding this which refers to a kext called codec commander to reinitialise the sound after a sleep. But this kext requires config.plist changes I don't know how to add to opencore. Not sure if anyone has experience with this issue on other NUCs.
FYI I installed my new wireless card and this is working like a dream. Everything works exactly like on a real Mac mini, just the sound sleep issue I need to resolve. Thanks for the tip on this.
Does the behavior repeat itself in other operating systems? Linux or Windows? So I just received my replacement NUC8i7BEH, now everytime it boots, the monitor stays on but screen is all black, I have to manually unplug and re-plug to get it working. It's connected via thunderbolt, LG ultrafine 4K. Same behavior while connecting a Dell P2415Q Thunderbolt to DP cable. So I guess this replacement NUC could be defective, may have to send it back.
I actually changed device properties to 0400A53E instead of 0900A53E, didn't work, but was able to get 4K over HDMI, before, it only showed 1080 resolution.
Again, all these NUC's have their own personalities! I'm using same SSD than the one that broke, that one had no trouble with the same monitor. So frustrating!
I think I’ve got a fix for you, just need some additional testing, hoping to post it tomorrowI ve tested different devices (usbc card reader, usbc phone)
They all work properly when i boot in linux using live distribution and they show up in osx if inserted before boot.
The bios have a backup feature, but yours crashed so i guess u didn't have the choice. Try updating the HDMI firmware and BIOS?So I just received my replacement NUC8i7BEH, now everytime it boots, the monitor stays on but screen is all black, I have to manually unplug and re-plug to get it working. And I'd try selecting Thunderbolt as the default Video output, if already selected then try Auto. Also make sure to follow the bios settings from the first page:The bios have a backup feature, but yours crashed so i guess u didn't have the choice. Try updating the HDMI firmware and BIOS?
I am getting a replacement soon, my audio jack only accepts input at certain rotations. This is my second replacement this year and I haven't seen any inconsistency between devices so far. But i will find out soon enough.
