Thanks, @scope666. I just read your thread before you posted above. Looks like your thread already has a ProArt user who's posted.

Yeah, I saw that, if he's correct that CFG-Lock is enabled on that board specifically, OpenCore has two quirks that you can enable to get around that:

AppleCpuPmCfgLock: YES
AppleXcpmCfgLock: YES

Source: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Desktop-Guide/config.plist/comet-lake.html#quirks_2

Really!! I thought all of the Asus Z490 motherboards had CFG unlocked!!! @Stork Can you please verify it when you attempt the installation. Why would Asus do that only for this Mobo!!!

I have asked ASUS about it as well. Let's see what they say.

Hey @Stork, I have asked someone else who is making a build with Asus ProArt Z490 Creator motherboard and he couldn't find them from the BIOS but it looks like default is disabled. 0x5A431 Suppress If {0A 82} 0x5A433 64 Bit Unsigned Int: 0x0 {45 8A 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00} 0x5A43D 64 Bit Unsigned Int: 0x0 {45 0A 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00} 0x5A447 Equal {2F 02} 0x5A449 End {29 02} 0x5A44B One Of: CFG Lock, VarStoreInfo (VarOffset/VarName): 0x3E, VarStore: 0x11, QuestionId: 0x25B, Size: 1, Min: 0x0, Max 0x1, Step: 0x0 {05 91 63 04 64 04 5B 02 11 00 3E 00 10 10 00 01 00} 0x5A45C One Of Option: Disabled, Value (8 bit): 0x0 (default) {09 07 04 00 30 00 00} 0x5A463 One Of Option: Enabled, Value (8 bit): 0x1 {09 07 03 00 00 00 01} 0x5A46A End One Of {29 02} 0x5A46C End If {29 02}

Also got half answer from ASUS and asked them to clarify more as they shared Z490 STRIX GAMING F user manual instead of ProArt Z490 Creator -_-

He has used OpenCore 0.5.9. There was no issue with installation, pretty much everything works except docker complaints about random go errors. Also 100% rate of failure when he pulls the containers from the Hub. He can use internet but he kept cutting off while he had a slack call. He tried different network card but did not help. No idea why but he believes this may be related to network encryption/decryption.

If he's got the I225-V and he's got it loaded via Device Properties (loads AppleIntel 210 kext) I experienced drop outs this way. Until we get a proper driver I've been using the Broadcom Wi-Fi when I'm booted on the Mac side of the machine.

He said he has used different network cards 2 Intel, Realtek, Aquantina A107 and Broadcom Wi-Fi but still same issuw. Do you think he might be doing something wrong somewhere? As you have experienced the issue and fixed it, you may help detecting?

If he's got the "hackintosh blessed" Broadcom Wi-Fi that most of us around here use, I'd have him try that for Slack / Zoom calls and see if it does any better. That's what I've been doing for work. I actually removed the eth0 interface from the network settings on the Mac side so it forces it to the Broadcom Wi-Fi only. This way I can leave it plugged in for when I boot into Windows.

Ok thanks, asked him to try that. Let's see if he can fix the issue

Not having much luck so far with the ProArt Creator 490 with either method. Will post more when I have time. Have to install Windows for now to get some project work done.
