Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Friends
Is it worth exchanging the z390 Designare for a Z490 D? improves performance?
What do you think ? Thank you
I gotta agree with the previous responses. I just got my Z390 upgraded to Catalina (I was holding out due to a couple programs I use not quite Catalina compliant (Audacity and Inkscape) to be specific) The system is rock solid now and several initial "nuances" are gone. I built mine right when Casey started the Z390 Designare thread. LOL that thread was what caused me to jump in headfirst. At the time, the Z390 wasn't in the "recommended" MB list. I may upgrade my 2016 Macbook Pro in a year but my Z390 will be around for at least 3 more years. I use the full Adobe suite, FCPX and all run smooth. But that doesn't mean I am not following this thread closely!

i fail to sleep now(sleep and wake up Immediately)
What could be the problem?
thanks
I found is a Bluetooth problem in BCM94360CD
If I remove the Bluetooth power cable
Sleep function is normal
I don't know if there is a solution

  • Are you using a Fenvi FV-T919?
  • Is it installed in the one and only short PCIe x1 slot?

I saw this sign .. the price is the same as Fenvi.
I just don't understand why to buy this card, which nobody used or tested being the same value as Fenvi.
Buy a Fenvi that is super tested by everyone and we know it works.

I had the exact same issue with my Z390 Aorus Pro build, my 'workaround' is:
Patch Method #1 (GPRW,2,N)

I think @CaseySJ mentioned this method in the diamond/platinum/titanium Z390 Designare guide.

My guess is the card the somehow talking to the board (supposed not to), so disable USB completely in the sleep can solve this but I lose the charging function at sleep and no wake from sub device. Not a big deal, but something to be aware of.

Hello,
I have tried your EFI and Apollo Twin X does not work. Tried 9.11 and 9.12.1 UAD drivers.

Thunderbolt does show up under PCI.

I also tried an HDMI monitor using a Thunderbolt to HDMI cable and it does not work.

Please review the troubleshooting guidelines located in the Designare Z390 guide. Scroll down to Miscellaneous as shown if the link does not take you there automatically.

The on-board Thunderbolt ports will not display video unless Platform ID is changed to 0x3E9B0007. To determine your current Platform ID, run Hackintool as shown. By default we set Platform ID to 0x3E980003 which turns off all on-board video ports.
