[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

Thanks to Leesureone I was easily able to install catalina on my nuc 8i5beh, so far it works very well. I used OC 8.5-2 Efi folder. Internal bluetooth works well, for wifi I used a spare Tp-link 823N V2 usb adapter. It only took installing the driver from Chis1111 github page. I would like to ask if its possible to disable verbose when booting . I tried clover configurator to disable verbose but -v wasn't even enabled.

Clover Configurator will not work with the OpenCore bootloader. Please search Github for “Propertree” to use to edit the config.plst. The section you want is under the NVRAM heading under the second “add”, that’s where the boot arguments are recorded.

does anyone know if Open Core 5.9 is coming out soon? I believe they usually update at the end of the month.
Its out as of today, although there are lots of internal changes the config.plist is almost the same structure. For anyone trying to update themselves this is a nice release for that.

There is also a new security update for catalina 10.15.5, went without a problem on my Nuc8i5beh.

OpenCore 5.9 for the NUC8 and configured for the i5 USB layout posted to page 90. I'll work on the NUC7 version soon.

Hello!
Has anyone been able to port their NUC7I7DNKE or DNHE to OpenCore? Any specific issue?

Currently my system works flawlessly. I have everything working on my DNHE using Clover, including iMessage, Handoff and Continuity. But I might try to switch to OC, because it seems to be more future proof...

My apologies if this has been asked before, I didnt find anything related to it.
Best regards,

I haven’t seen a working Opencore configuration here for your model which is the Dawson Canyon variety.

Thanks for the response! Welp. If I get some free time I’ll try to port it and post the results.

I used @Leesureone Clover EFI folder to get my NUC back up and running a few months ago, which was great. I know at some point I'm going to have to upgrade to OpenCore -- Is it as simple as copying the newest folder from Page 90, or is there more to it than that?

I have a windows drive in there too and have been doing dual boot. However, I don't really use the Windows side much and am content to ditch that if need be.

Is the OpenCore EFI needed to update to newer versions of Catalina, or am I safe to do that with my old clover EFI?
