Asus X299 - Catalina Support

Oh yeah, I think I have the same exact USB dongle stored somewhere. I used that before the PCIe combo card.

Any idea about the USB power errors on wake? Is anyone else seeing them?

Hi all,

I'm having a couple of the weirdest malfunctioning:
Asus Prime X299-A, i9 9820X, Vega 56
I basically updated Bios to 2002 then this happened. Then I've reverted to 1902 but nothing changes.

- XHCI doesn't show up. No matter what I do. It just shows up XHCI without any tree below it. No port whatsoever. I tried adding various XHCI kext but it makes no difference.
- HDAU doesn't show up. Latest Lilu+AppleALC AND with VoodooHDA.kext. In both cases it doesn't show up. Just HDMI Audio.

I've used this board for some time. This is totally unexpected.
Same with different MacOS Catalina and Mojave.
Does anyone have anything to suggest?

@JimmyS followed your suggestion on switching sockets and going to previous BIOS version: no change :/ I guess I will monitor the driver development and wait for a new version.

I managed to enable the debug logging but can't see any reason why my USBKext doesn't have any effect. Seems to loaded OK:

47:217 00:036 OC: Prelink injection USBMap.kext (Patch engine) - Success

Any clue what to check on why it seems to have no effect?

Same board as yours:

Asus moved XHCI settings in BIOS elsewhere since 2002, I had same problem but enabled back XHCI somewhere in BIOS and I solved

You can't use both AppleALC and Voodoo at the same time, just stick with Lilu+AppleALC (way better than Voodoo) and use "7" for injection. I'm using OpenCore right now, can't remember where the injection is in Clover but u should find it pretty easily

Pieropontra, I'm also on a X299-A and am not having any luck getting OC to even boot. What firmware are you on, and did you do the ASUS bios patch?

Try to enable 'Above 4G Decoding' in BIOS. No kext other than USB map is needed.

Can you try to have just one drive at a time? In just either one of the sockets at a time? I mean if it worked maybe this could be a valuable bit of information for the future development.

Thanks for your reply...

I have no XHCI even with 1902 Bios.

I was using just one of the two solution at the time. Either Lilu+AppleALC OR VoodooHDA. In both cases no controller.

But they work in windows.

Thanks,

enabling Above 4G Decoding solved the issue!!!
Thanks a lot!

v. 2002 and no patch at all but I think u need a newer bios since u r using a 10th gen CPU

XHCI is surely present in BIOS, the on/off switch I mean, google it for your bios version
AppleALC work flawless in OpenCore, really I don't know much anymore for clover, I ditched it a while ago
