[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

Okay, with that new information I think a sanity check is in order. Can you check your memory specs against intels recommendations? OSX is a little more particular than windows and a freeze could be related. Before you go deeper down the rabbit hole its wirth checking out.

Indeed worth checking. I have 2x 8gb DDR4-2400 1.2v so everything should be fine. I just tried with another ram I had laying around but same result.

Down the rabbit hole :)

Thanks for the tip, will try tonight. In the meantime I tried a fresh install on an evo 970 plus (firmware upgraded) and same issue.

Yes @dan111 since day one, although now it seems to be always a freeze and before it was a reboot. So not sure if something I changed made that or it's just random. My fresh install produces freezes. My guess is that 'natural' sleeps end up with a reboot and 'forced' sleep produces the freeze.

Will report back after trying my own USB-SSDT

So I followed the guide and did my own USB-SSDT. I may have missed something but I don't think so and the problem is still there.

To start with I had less than the 15 ports :

The two inactive I assume are the type C ones. I deleted those just to make sure and I removed USBInjectAll, disabled the patches and replaced SSDT-UIAC.aml in ACPI/patched. It seems ok in Hackintool :

I probably missed something but not idea what to look for.

Lack or missing ports won't cause an issue unless you try to use them so I guess that wasn't the problem. Its unusual and not many ways to determine why its acting up when it works unaltered for 90% of people. Meanwhile we did just change some aspects of the Clover EFI, I am now thinking that might be the issue.

Try this older EFI configuration, add it to a USB drive and boot that way. If it doesn't boot you may have to update clover first but make sure not to change the contents of the drivers section (only install what is already there, it can update just not change to a different driver). I don't have it installed on anything so can't update it for you.
If it works you can upload it to your hard drive

Hi I have the same issue! Where did you find the hidpi patch?
I get the same analog tv static. Did you solve it with the patch or by upgrading clover? It’s driving me insane.

Still no luck unfortunately...

Could it be graphics related ? If i move the cursor right before it freezes, the cursor gets much bigger randomly :

There is nothing random about it, it's a feature you can turn on/off :

Ok, didn't know that one  Thanks for the info
Wish I knew something else to suggest. Guess you could also try Mojave and see if it acted differently. You can still download it but will need too search google for links to where it is on apples servers.
