[Success] ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming-ITX + TB3 + iGPU + Mojave + SFF Build

Right, but using mango’s firmware involves the use of that external hardware correct? It also removes the ability to dual boot with TB support?

Sorry for being naive here.

Anyone got any tips for figuring out random wake issues with this build?

2020-04-06 23:33:27 +0100 Wake Wake from Normal Sleep [CDNVA] due to /Network: Using AC (Charge:0%) 2020-04-06 23:33:27 +0100 WakeDetails DriverReason:PXSX - DriverDetails: 2020-04-06 23:33:27 +0100 HibernateStats hibmode=3 standbydelay=86400

Sometimes it wakes after 5 mins, other times 30 mins. Wake for network is disabled. Thought I'd cracked it by disabling find my Mac & Proximity Wake. It's getting really annoying now I'm isolating - small flat + this hack with a Vega 56 spinning up often gets to you after a while. Any help would be massively appreciated!

@rj510, great build. Hoping to get some advice (for a newb) on adding the TB3 functionality to my build. I've got everything now running but the TB3, which I'm needing for an Apogee Element series thunderbolt device (I'm stinging to just make some music again).

In short: I've got the same motherboard and I've got Catalina up and running smoothly, what would be your suggestion for the best way to add your TB3 work to an existing build? Could you point me to the steps specifically for that?

Anything I should upload to assist?

I'll add that I've mounted all your EFI folders into my SSD EFI now and attempted to add the items you've shown under devices in the Clover Config, but I can't really get anything to show up.

[UPDATE] I played around several times with various boot settings in the Thunderbolt BIOS, it just showed up after about 6 goes. Strange, but I'm back to making music, successfully showing up Apogee Element 24 on Thunderbolt. Very happy!

Hi,
FIrst of all thank you and well done so far!
I've downloaded your EFI folder and filled it up with my serisal numbers. My configuration is different than yours as I have an AMD RX480 which I want to use.

When I load usign your booter, at the end of the loading the screen turns black as it probably tries to activate Metal on the iGPU and of course stays black as I want to use the AMD card instead.

Can you please help me to change it? If I boot in safe mode of course it works.

TIA for your help. I appreciate :)

hey,
Dumb question but my system is stuck at the apple logo at the end of the bar. (install procces)
What can be done?
did extactly what said (bios is on last)

I think we have the same problem. I see you have a discrete GPU and this EFI folder is hardwired to work exclusively with IGPU. If the OP kindly explains how to remove the iGPU exclusivity we can create another installer for all of us with a PCIe GPU.

@rj510 hi, could you tell me where in the SSDT you program the booter to work exclusively with thew iGPU?
This doesn't seem to be working with a dGPU. Could you please shed some light?

Have you added the Clover boot argument "agdpmod=pikera" and have you used the right config plist file? (He uploaded two, one for iGPU and one for dGPU)

THANK YOU. It finally worked!
There's so much confusion in the Hackintosh world, still... How the F was I supposed to know the magic word to use my GPU? Why isnt it activated by default into the booter?
