[Solved] How to rebuild kextcache

Don't install a mixed set of FakeSMC/FakeSMC plugin kexts. They must always be from matched builds.

Let's say that, that is the issue, how do I go about to fixing it?

Could I reboot in single user
remove all Multibeast Kext and caches
Boot from unibeast key and use Multibeast to reset everything properly?

Just tried launching the install process from my Unibeast key (without formatting) and it ended up with the same kind of issue...

I thought the <install macOS> hadn't changed anything...
But in fact it broke sound, and Multibeast will not finish due to the cache error.

Could I just format the EFI partition? Or Will I need to completely reformat and repartition the boot drive?

Nobody wants me to try something else?

To just erase the EFI?
etc. etc.?

Otherwise in 1 or 2 hour I'll reformat the SSD, Repartition it, clean install and Hopefully the Migration assistant will be able to recover my things from my clone...
Finally testing the backup/cloning system ^^

you was given some advice from RehabMan on page 1 which has nothing to do with your EFI

just remove the fakeSMC you installed and install fresh ones

if that fails, then you could wipe and reinstall

Yep...
Fixed it.

I am truly sorry for wasting your time.

I have no idea how (or when) I messed that one up...
For the longest of time I haven't touch FakeSMC...

What gave it away?

Thank you for that but how do I direct that to the other non-working installation? That will rebuild the kext cache of the current install I booted up from right? I want to rebuild the kext cache for the other install as I booted up from a carbon copy bootable usb disk I would like not to touch.

Thanks

Ok in short upgraded 15.2 to 15.4 but it crashes at the desktop or KPs. Checked my L/E folder and noticed I left Paragon ntfs kext in there before I upgraded. So I booted up from a backup off of a usb disk and deleted that kext from L/E just in case it was the cause of my instability and failure to boot but I need to rebuild the kext cache on that disk since I deleted that kext. If I type 'sudo kextcache -i /' in terminal it will work and rebuild the kext cache on the usb disk I booted up from correct? Need to rebuild kextcache on the internal original hard drive.

Thank you.

Sorry to be a pain.
