Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming build with working NVRAM

never. mind right after posting that is started doing it again

I think the decks need clearing if you want to solve all these problems so:

Are you using one of @pastrychef 's EFI folders? They do just work and have been carefully vetted.

The last config.plist you posted was an over-stuffed OpenCore one. Are you still using this or have you moved on?

What external USB devices do you have plugged-in all the time?

Barring a hardware failure you should not be having these problems, so something such as inappropriate patching is more than likely the culprit if hardware is ruled-out.

:)

Can you try creating a new account and logging out of your current account then in to the new one to see if you still experience problems?

no effect when creating a new account.

Uggghhhh this sucks so bad. Really wish I had created a backup a few weeks ago. last one was in early February. I hate reinstalling all this crap every time.

Make a Time Machine backup and then do a Time Machine restore of your apps.

Oh, thanks for that. Booted up off USB Clover with WhateverGreen removed and this patch added, getting the same IOAudioEngine stop/start crashes several times a minute.

I came across your post by accident. In case you haven't figure it out yet,
this is something I just spend the last 5 days trying to figuring out and finally someone helped me.

If it is the same issue, in your BIOS disable "Serial Port". (If already disabled, then sorry IDK.)

If you don't have "Serial Port" option, try either the latest BIOS or as a last resort a beta BIOS. (Just Google beta BIOS gigabyte, and you'll find it). Or an older BIOS.
On the Z390 Aorus Ultra, that setting was gone, and created a lot of issues, sounds was most noticeable. I had the option to use an older BIOS or a beta BIOS myself.

New OpenCore 0.5.7 EFI posted. All kexts have been updated to latest release version.

There has been A LOT of changes since previous version. Do not use your old config.plist. Copy/paste your PlatformInfo to the new config.plist.

Side note: I will not be updating Clover EFI to r5109. I've been seeing a lot of reports of problems and will skip this version.

@pastrychef what is the best way to go about fixing this system booting to the recovery partition?

If you are using OpenCore, you need to set the boot drive in System Preferences > Startup Disk.

Hi pastrychef, i was wondering if you can share your BIOS Profile that´s working, because i was using your EFI folder for OpenCore for weeks everything went good, in some point boot start saying that was a problem and if i wanted to load optimized defaults, i avoid this for like a week, but i gived it a try yesterday...bad idea, macOS stop booting, i tried to make it boot from USB but no success, tried different combinations of the BIOS and no succes, tried OpenCore debug releases, with verbose mode and nothing that made me think "this is the erro"...so i think something is wrong on bios defaults but cant figure it out...
