Thanks for the reminder, didn't know I have to rebuild the KextCache after patching. Always thought I only have to rebuild the KextCache when installing and deleting Kexts.

It works great for me now!
You are welcome, glad I helped.

So I just finished building my system, and have only installed Windows so far. Was playing Half Life 2 for a while, and the sound in the game started getting very staticky. So maybe this is not a macOS driver problem? R VII Bios is .038.

The audio is going through the HDMI to my TV right now (haven't bought a monitor yet). Are people experiencing audio glitches with system audio, or only audio through the graphics card?

I had problems with display and audio loss and eventual freezing and game crashes in Windows on my AMD R Vii. Latest bios, latest Adrenalin. I returned it.

It's early to know for sure, but I think my sound problems might be gone, at least in Windows.

I enabled "Above 4G Decoding" in my BIOS.

I had Above 4g enabled already on mine, issues remained in both OS's, albeit the solution we put forth in this thread solved the Mac OS side. Windows problems persisted.

NOPE. No luck. It was fine for several days, but then all of a sudden the problems came back. Not only is it making audio glitches again, it's also stuttering in games where I have tiny little freezes in the graphics. On the hackintosh side, my system hasn't been stable and has crashed about once a day, which I can't say for sure is the GPU, but I'm getting suspicious.

Edited to add:
The last time Mojave froze and crashed, it froze up in the middle of LuxMark. I went into Windows for a while to try some gaming and see how the GPU seemed (BAD). When I booted back into macOS, it resumed all the applications, and I see this:

As well as this in the logs when it crashed, repeated about 20 times:
Code:
Aug 28 22:26:33 ada com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.DumpGPURestart): Service only ran for 1 seconds. Pushing respawn out by 9 seconds.

Is everyone who's having a problem with the Radeon VII on a Gigabyte motherboard? It sort of seems that way skimming back a few pages.
