The everything works Asus Z390-I Gaming * i7-8700K * SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX Vega 64 Build

It helps if you boot with the verbose flag (-v) and then take a pitcure of the result and post it. You can see where it hangs.

Trying it with -v flag, this seems endless.....
I've waited 15 minutes and debug info is still scrolling.
How long can this take?

I'm a little confused.

I have the exact same motherboard. However, I'm using the iGPU.

Followed the OPs clover installer and used his EFI folder.

I can install Mojave, up until the installer say "2 minutes remaining", then the installer hard reboots and that doesn't look right.

After the reboot, I select install Mojave from my internal SSD, not the USB drive

The installer gets to %12 and reboots.

I then get stuck in this cycle.

Not sure what's going on, anyone having the same issue?
The installer takes 3 reboots (IIRC) and Clover selects for you what to boot (at the Clover Boot screen).

What Stork said.... if that doesn't get you there, then the -v flag is not supposed to be a debug output. If it was, you'd see the font display in various colors as it scrolls down the screen. Verbose is usually pretty fast, a little longer than normal boot times maybe, and it's just a white font showing processes and kexts being loaded, and typically it runs up the screen faster than you can read it. 15 minutes means you've got something wrong.. But I have no idea what. Check your BIOS settings and double check your drivers and kexts on your USB boot drive is all I can suggest.

Something is really messed up with my installer.

The initial install get to "about 2 minutes remaining" then does a hard reboot, at this point the system is waiting at the clover boot menu with 2 options.

1: Boot MacOS Install from Install macOS Mojave
2: Boot macOS from MacOS

MacOS is my Mac partition on the internal SSD.

If I choose option 1 I start the installation process over from scratch

If I choose option 2 it reboots the system back into the clover bootloader again.

Are we sure the the attached EFI files for iGPU are good?

EDIT:
So I started the installer with -v and as mentioned above, when the installer gets to "About 2 minutes remaining" it hard reboots, below is the error on screen

ModMike should be back on soon...if you want to try something else see this post by Macman on his new build. Very similar hardware but a different approach to install. Bios settings probably the same as ModMike has listed for your board, but he is using an older bios version. His config.plist might not work because for us because of it without editing.

I think you might be right about the bios version

I've running the latest version 2.20.1271, i'm wondering if a downgrade to ModMike's version is even possible ?

ModMike, if you read this, can you report back with you BIOS version please mate ?

Ipguy, the number you posted isn’t the bios version, it’s the intel management engine (intel me) version. The bios Is a four digit number like 2401 which is the latest. Check it again and edit your post for reference. I was talking, probably not clearly enough, about the bios Macman was using, different board but it’s still an Asus z390 using integrated graphics. Probably not a bios version issue if you are following this guide.

Ok my bios version is 2401 x64

If it's not a bios version issue then what could it be, I've got the exact same motherboard as ModMike, set the bios as he suggested, build the installer and used his EFI for iGPU

I'm kind of at a loss then.

do you think you can send me your efi folder?
also, what bios version are you running?

Be happy to later, away from that computer, but mine is rigged for DGPU not integrated graphics. The only difference I can see between the two ModMike has posted is the two SYMBIOS definitions, the IGPU is set up as iMac 18,1 and the DGPU 18,3 which makes sense. You can download DGPU version and give it a try, it would essentially be the same as me sending you mine. Make sense?

Using 2401 BIOS version.
