Good thing I tried 19,2 and it did not work either. Both 19,1 and 9,2 are both DGPU however, 19,2 matches my system best, because it matches my CPU and it matches my GPU. I referred that thread because that is where I got the Kext.. not because it matched my system best.

Edit: I guess there is not a 580 for the 9,2 just a Vega 20. However, I spent enough time trying to make it work with the IGPU, and a dummy key fixed it. Maybe it will break later maybe it will fix later and not be needed.

Yes both can be configured DGPU but only 19,2 offers an IGPU option which is why DGPU users should use 19,1. You also use an RX580 which is not offered on 19,2. Your processor will be properly recognized regardles.

I believe the is incorrect. There was some erroneous information posted on line.

Yea I corrected myself.

But if you read my profile you will see that I have an I5 8th Gen CPU not a I7 or an I9 or event a 9th gen. My video is 580. Either way I had them both configured for 19,1 and 19,2 my solution was my solution. I I tired all kind of different options. When I had a Vega 56 plugged in the day before everything worked as it should with the IGPU and no kext. But this dude does not have a Vega and I do not have a Vega plugged in.

I did read your profile but if everything works then all good. I mentioned it because there was some profile spec confusion early on.

I updated the profile the moment I changed to the 580 card. I am guessing pastry just assumed I was using a Vega when he responded because he is familiar with my systems.

Was there ever a consensus if a 27" 2019 iMac configured with i9 was using a 9900K or 9900KF CPU? So if using i9-9900K, does it use iGPU in headless mode? Or is it using 9900KF, and thus go iGPU at all?

I believe that someone did a test on the 19,1 9900k version that showed it using the IGPU for encoding/decoding.

The processor used in iMac 19.1 is a i9 9900k OEM and has a different ID, that’s why the consumers i9 9900k is not recognized in Mac OS.

iTunes DRM and Netflix in Safari 1080p only works with DGPU enabled and IGPU disabled.
DGPU hardware encoding/decoding works natively in mac os 10.14.5 beta 2 using smbios iMac Pro 1,1 or spoofing with WEG boot args shikki=30 and mac pro id, without dummy.kext .

iTunes DRM works for me with dGPU and IGPU enabled and configured as headless using iMac19,1 system definition.

No dummy kext used.

I don't have Netflix.

Did you said that only DGPU is enabled?
No, I don't inject Intel.

That's why is working. Only with DGPU injected. You can check by playing iTunes movies.
