[Guide] Installing macOS Mojave (10.14.2) on Intel NUCi5BEH using Clover UEFI + updating to Mojave (10.14.6) on post#2

Hopefully another member has somer insight on what they've done, there are definitely some posts related to being able to and intel should have some documentation as well. On mine its as easy as loading the bios onto a flash drive and hitting F7 at the boot.
It's sort of logical, seems a major bios upgrade therefore major changes to the ACPI structure are expected.
If you guys can't boot at all, try at least pressing F2/F4 on clover boot menu to dump new ACPI files and attach EFI there. i will take a look on what has changed so we can try to modify files to work.

If that seems to be the case, i will send rehabman a Pull Request to update the patch.

I initially updated the BIOS firmware to 64, same problem, then updated to 66, same problem.

The prior available firmware before 64 is 51: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28362/BIOS-Update-BECFL357-86A-

Error message trying to downgrade from 66 to 51: "FLASH UPDATE FAILED!"

Also moved BIOS security jumper, then couldn't get into firmware upgrade or visual bios at all.

Found this where is says to remove the jumper. Meanwhile I am running version 56 with no issues

I now have my intel nuc running, but how do i change config.plist for only 4k screen

I don't see BE0056.bio on Intel's firmware page. Does anyone have a spare BE0056.bio lying around?

EDIT:

I found BE0056.bio in another thread, at this post:

Here's the BE0056.bio download link from that post: https://www.tonymacx86.com/attachments/be0056-bio-zip.392463/

It’s here in this thread. 51 should work as well

Does anyone else have the issue when the computer wakes up after long sleep video playing is no longer working, whether it's web based Youtube video or local video?

Just updated to bios version 66 and can confirm using suedkaliber's EFI folder downloaded from the main Rehabman NUC7/8 thread started everything seems to be solid. His post is copied below with his EFI folder! There are some additional drivers in both the drivers64 and drivers64UEFI folders and the patched ACPI folder there is an additional DSDT.amlfile and the config.plist is different (haven't had time to check it out in Xcode yet). Worked for me though!!

Edit: I have had sometime to work on the original EFI file and I've paired it down and this version will let you boot a USB drive but it only has the minimum kexts for USB, Internet and intel Graphics. I personally load all my kexts into Library Extensions instead of Clover/Kexts/ Other. The argument for it can be seen on the Tonymac home page, easy to add the balance of kexts needed if that's what you prefer.

From Suedkaliber:

@zzmadd please customize the config.plist of my attached EFI folder and try if you're able to boot.
USB kext contains fixes for internal usb2 connectors (got the kext from hackintosh-forum.de > user: patricksworld)
<key>BoardSerialNumber</key>
<string>C078474xxxxxx</string>

Working status (BIOS v66):
  • gpu
  • ssd 970 evo (don't use 970 evo plus, doesn't work
  • even in real macs)
  • LAN: needed to enable FixRegions to fix "IntelMausiEthernet: Failed to get adapter data with error -3"
  • usb-a fron/back
  • usb-c on the back only works when the device is connected before booting,
if you connect afterwards devices aren't connected
  • hdmi 4k 60Hz with Samsung U28e590D (HDMI2 is 4k 60Hz, HDMI only 30Hz)
  • usb-C > Displayport 4k 60Hz
  • thunderbolt3 (BIOS setting Thunderbolt Legacy Mode) works (IIRC only when connected before booting)
    • elgate tb3 dock
    • cal digit ts3 dock
    • i-tec TB3 > NVME ssd adapter
  • sleep works fine
  • wake on lan from sleep works fine
  • bluetooth didn't work for me but I didn't try hard. I saw users who had to enable it from windows)
  • FAN: is kind a noisy... not full speed, but it's audible all the time..
I never was able to boot into graphics with the linked clover + createinstallmedia method + plist from RehabMans repo.
With the DSDT.aml from my EFI it works.
I finished installation using RehabMans guide (SSDT-DDA.aml IIRC was compiled at one of RHM's steps).

Seems like "maybe" latest Clover EFI r4895 might contain new efi drivers which can replace the ones used in this tutorial ?
Wouldn't it be easier to refresh this tutorial ? ;)

Hi Cric, did you update the config file with the correct ID? Or do we still need to change the graphics ID every reboot?
The config.plist in this EFI folder I use on my USB Boot drive works whenever, no need to change anything. Also if you were to upgrade your bios past 51 or 56 it would still work. All you really need is to do is copy the clover folder from the zip file to your USB drive EFI folder. I didn't include all the kexts needed to do much more than boot with wired internet but feel free to supplement them as you like. I use the same folder on my NVME Mojave boot SSD without the kexts and don't have to change anything. If you want iMessage to work you'd have to change the serial number in the SYMBIOS to get that working. Kexts I have installed in Library/Extensions.
