pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

Software is from https://github.com/audiohacked/OpenCorsairLink but I think it has nothing to do with the software. If I disable the software autostart on boot, I've the same problems with sleep. Maybe the root cause is the internal USB-Extender/Splitter I'm using for HS013 and HS014 (Rokoo 9 Pin USB Header Stecker 1 bis 4). I'll check again ...

What kind of splitter is it?

Another thing you can try is using a PCI-e USB 3.0 card with internal header. The PCI-e slots should sleep correctly. I used to use one of these with my old MacPro5,1 and it worked well:

Forgot to ask about Thunderbolt 3, have you added it or you simple don't need TB3? Thanks again!

This motherboard doesn't have support for Thunderbolt.

Plus, I have never invested in any Thunderbolt accessories.

I think it’s just to sort the list.

I read somewhere something about "Force RGB mode" that may solve my problem... I will try that and report back.

Thanks!

Yeah! That did it!
Forcing RGB mode by following this steps, solved my blurry display problem.
Hope this can help others...

Wow. I don't have such lofty hopes. Lol. I would be happy with a solid 5GHz all core overclock with low voltage and temps.

Yes, as I've said, the Noctua coolers and fans are fantastic. I changed the secondary heatsink fan to an NF-A12x25 PWM and it made all the difference in the world.
Did you only replace the secondary fan or both of them?

It means, get out the barbecued chicken out of the freezer, its time to start cookin.....:crazy::crazy:
Interesting, that this weirdness subsides until I do some kind of work, moving stuff around, fans, new CPU cooler...

I think that the readings are from the FakeSMC sensors. Maybe switching to VirtualSMC can help.

Apple finally updated the iMac line with 9th gen CPUs. Those of us already using 9th gen CPUs will probably be able to update to a new system definition with the next macOS release.

It's interesting that one of the options is for a "Radeon Pro Vega 48". Probably to create some artificial separation between the top of the line iMac and the lower end iMac Pros.

Things I'm curious about:
  • Which Intel chipset is Apple using.
  • Is there support for CNVI?
  • How they manage the heat of the i9-9900K.
