pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

I've never had problems with the monitor not coming back on. My monitor is connected via DisplayPort. I regularly change input sources on the monitor because I have a second computer connected that I use to play games. I can put both computers to sleep and once I wake either computer, the monitor automatically goes to that input source.
Hmmmm, I dont even get a picture when waking the machine up from sleep.
What could be the problem?

I use VGTab (extracted the text from the .kext and successfully added it to the devices section in config.plist). 900Mhz HBM, 1050mV Core, stable for couple of hours in Heaven benchmark. Min. fan Speed: 500, Temp Target: 53

maybe a flag in config.plist?

I just use the VGTab kext. Never had an issue.

I can't think of any flag in config.plist that can prevent the Vega from waking. In fact, nothing has to be done in config.plist to get the Vega working.

Are you running 4K?

Everything I've read about Z390 indicates that native NVRAM is broken with Z390 and EmuVariableUefi has to be used.

Again, from what I've read, AptioMemoryFix may or may not work well with Z390. For some, one of the older Aptio fixes work better.

Therefore, if you want to use one of my EFI folders, you should:
  1. Copy my EFI folder to the EFI partition of your USB flash drive or SSD/HD.
  2. Download the launch the latest Clover installer.
  3. Install Clover using the following options:
  4. View attachment 387312View attachment 387315
  5. Try booting in to macOS or the macOS installer. If it works, you are good.
  6. If it doesn't work, you may need to replace AptioMemoryFix-64.efi with one of the older Aptio fixes.
  7. Navigate to /EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI/ and delete AptioMemoryFix-64.efi.
  8. Launch the Clover installer again and install either OsxAptioFix3Drv-64 or OsxAptioFixDrv-64. (I would try OsxAptioFix3Drv-64 first.)
  9. View attachment 387316
  10. Try booting.
All the other stuff such as kexts and config.plist should work as is. Even if AptioMemoryFix works for booting, test audio, sleep/wake, restart, and shutdown. If you have issues with any of those try one of the other Aptio fixes. Also remember to spoof 8th gen IGPU (instructions are on post #1).

Hey man, thank you for the detailed reply!

I didn't reinstall from scratch. I was running 10.14, I followed your instructions on your first post, replaced my old EFI folder with your EFI folder, installed AptioMemoryFix and EmuVariableUefi, spoofed my iGPU per your instructions on post #1 (I'm only using dGPU), and it booted right away!

Audio, ethernet, quicksync, icloud/imessage/etc work, sleep and wake also worked after I ran the autopoweroff command. I updated to 10.14.3, and USB stopped working, but I already expected that (also why I stayed on 10.14) but I'll map my USB ports now. It all went so much better than I expected haha :D

No random freezes so far but it's too early to say everything is 100% fine. I'll report back. Thanks, I really appreciate your help!

Awesome. Glad to hear it all worked as expected.

Yes, I think that with 10.14.3, doing the proper USB fix is almost a necessity now and becoming less of an "option". It's easier to do your mapping when all the ports are working so if you have a backup of 10.14.0, boot from that to do the mapping.

Hi, all! So, do I need to buy an extra WiFi card for High Sierra or Mojave or the embedded on Z370-G gaming works??

No, the included Wi-Fi card does not work with macOS. It needs to be replaced. Please see post #40 on this thread.

... here's this thing should be part of useless things ... but it can make it nice to start.
I have updated to Clover r4877 which fix some bugs on the startup sound (AudioDxe-64.efi).
I don't want support BootChimeDxe.efi, it's has built-in Chime sound and after a while it's frustrating, boring. o_O
You can add a sound to your liking in the CLOVER GUI, this to nothing to do with SOUND after select macOS partition.
Insert a wav sound to your liking and rename it sound.wav in the Theme folders, for example, I use the BGM theme and inside I put the sound.wav
If you set PlayAsync while sound.wav in Theme folder then music will be played before in GUI CLOVER.
I attach a sound that I liked.
I add that you can change the audio volume and the output in Clover Options.

Yes, I am running 4K
Is that a problem?
It works fine with my similar build and a RX 570

Super weird. I have no Idea how to fix this...

Try a different, higher quality HDMI cable.
