Having issues installing 10.14 it freezes as soon as the installation starts
I have no issues booting, I have all the latest kext I followed @skroutz999 BIOS settings
Yes it is freezing while installing but it's not related with system freezes while in OS. As I red in the forum z390 motherboards are new still and have issues with restarts during installation. I installed 10.13.6 with unibeast and multibeast and then I upgraded to Mojave. Note that when you are in the upgrade procedure you have to choose while in the boot selection mode (Clover) "preboot from macos... something". The screen will go absolutely black for 10 minutes or more but you will see that hdd led is blinking fast. After a while the system will restart and you will be able to upgrade successful.

Also I have attached the bios settings I used based on official guide. Remember that you cannot disable Secure Boot Mode but you clear the keys inside in the submenu. Also I have used in Bios XMP II. I have notice that a few people had issues with xmp profiles such as freezes, kernel panics, etc.

Also I just had a freeze again.

CaseySJ thx, I added those patches with text edit and double checked also in clover configurator that they are there!

Update: Still no USB3 speeds. I have also checked ioregistry explorer and I don't see anywhere SS... (screenshot attached).
Very interesting -- IORegistryExplorer shows 14 HSxx ports (which are USB High Speed ports -- USB 2.0) and a USR1 port, for a total of 15. This is the standard MacOS "USB Port Limit". None of your SSxx ports (USB Super Speed -- USB 3.0) is active because the 15 port limit was reached with just the High Speed ports.

Although you have applied the Port Limit Patch, it seems that might not be the right one or it did not take effect. For 10.14.2, are you using the USB patch listed in this post?

Eventually, once you have successfully installed Mojave, it would be a good idea to create a custom SSDT for USB ports. With such a SSDT you won't have to worry about port limit patches any more!

For the occasional reboots you're encountering, it might be worth re-flashing the BIOS or resetting the CMOS on your motherboard. CMOS reset procedures are described in the manual, and they vary from motherboard to motherboard. The effect of a re-flash or a CMOS reset is that NVRAM is fully cleared. It is possible that some malicious entries in NVRAM are affecting your system's stability. So while this is not guaranteed to resolve your problem (because random reboots are notoriously difficult to trace), it might be helpful in some way.

This will reset your BIOS configuration as well, but it takes just a couple of minutes to change BIOS values again.

Yes I have attached the patch from textedit and clover also. Its strange cause the 1st time I installed Mojave 10.14.1 some usb3 ports were working normal. Now i don't have any SS ports in my IORegistryExplorer. I have to create a sutoms SSDT for usb ports as you suggested. Also I will reset CMOS to see if it helps... It didn't have cross my mind at all.. good tip thx! :)

Update: Something crossed my mind what it may be the issue with usb ports. Paragon only lets you reuse license only 4 times. Because of all of these changes in SMbios everytime I cannot use my license with a new Smbios. So Im using in the last change from imcpro1.1 to imac18.3 the same serial and same SmUUID. This may caused an abnormal situation here... imacpro1.1 serial and SmUUID to be used to smbios 18.3. I will check and report.

Hi there, I have the same motherboard + cpu and have managed to get everything working really great! Sleep/Wake and respectable boot times on apfs etc.
I followed rehabman's guides on creating SSDT for USBInjectAll (read very carefully the part about injecting in groups with -uia_exclude flag), USB Power Property Injection (Read about Fake EC and USBX).

I have attached my EFI/Clover Folder for you to look at, (in the config.plist I have already created a new serial in the SMBIOS and checked coverage before uploading)
FYI
I install all kexts via terminal to /Library/Extensions and put a copy in the EFI/Clover/Kexts/Other. I set Inject Kexts to "Detect" So you can find all the kexts that i have used for this Motherboard in there.
I hope this is of some help!

Thank you!!
Only issues I have rn is to her the graphics working I get a black screen when I boot I’m not sure if it’s because I have the 9900k buh I’m seeing where build that has the 9700k internal graphics is working I did everything I could find on the internet tbh oh and my audio not working either I rather have graphics than audio tbh I have the Maximus XI WiFi any help would be greatly appreciated

j4v3l so did you have a successful installation of high sierra or mojave? Audio with multibeast is working fine in my case. I have red from others that they can't get audio working with similar Asus boards but with unibeast and multibeast Im sure it will work OOB. One solution I have followed in many cases when a driver was working and for some reason stopped, is to delete all extra kexts I have installed in extensions folder (leave only fakesmc in clover/kexts/other), clear all parameters in Clover and reset bios settings to default. Then put the basic bios configuration settings based on official guide and then install Multibeast basic kexts and see how it goes. In most cases at least Im able to make a fresh start and solve the problems I had. As for the motherboard one tip I can give cause I had a few years ago Maximus Formula VI Z87, is to disable any wifi/bluetooth adapters from bios which are on the board and start checking how it goes with installation/booting etc.

I’m able to install 10.13.x, I will try those steps. Buh I’ll see what happens later when I get home.

Hi buddhaburger, thx for the help.
I will test you EFI and see how it goes. So you didn't experience any system freezes so far?
We have the same cpu/mobo so Im thinking that my freezes are related to my gpu (Rx580 8gb Nitro+) or to my dual channel Ram modules (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR). In Windows ofc I don't have any issues or freezes at all but it may be related to my selected XMP II in bios (QVL confirms that Ram is compatible with z390-a). Can you please provide info about your gpu and ram, brand and model? Also in which sata port is connected your main macos drive?

You are welcome!
I didn’t have any freezes at all. I am running a 970 Evo NVMe in the M.2_2 slot (the one with the heat sink), 850 Evo for Windows (M.2_1 slot in sata mode) and an 800gb intel 750 nvme for storage in the pcie x16_2 slot.
RAM is Corsair pro RGB 4x8 3200MHz.
Graphics card is a powercolor Vega 64 reference card, it needed some tweaking for voltage and fan speed but I will probably just swap it out for an old NVIDIA Kepler card as my primary function is an Audio Workstation and I don’t need too much graphics power.

In the bios I actually have enabled AI overclock which automatically disables xmp. Xmp is set to detect in config.plist/clover and shows as 3200mhz in MacOS. Intel graphics is disabled in bios too. I will upload bios pictures in a few hours.
Yes, do try the clover folder I uploaded, it should get you going at least to problem solve.
