...are you also using RehabMan's FakeSMC.kext (from the same ZIP package)

Found an older copy of FakeSMC.kext (probably from MultiBeast) in /Library/Extensions/ - thinking this may block injection of kexts in "kexts/Other" during boot into macOS. Will try with a fresh macOS install + Clover without MultiBeast. Any thoughts?

The reason I'm concerned about this motherboard is that it was found out that it was very poor VRMs and it's unclear if it'd work with a i9-9900k.

BIOS 805 is quite flakey, it really does not like being powered off at the mains, if the system has hung, it will often refuse to boot and not recognise any USB devices and/or hard drives until the CMOS is cleared and then it's OK again until next time. I have no doubt that it will be OK with a BIOS update, I just wish they'd hurry up!

That certainly sounds possible and likely. I would delete the extra FakeSMC.kext from /Library/Extensions, then do a rebuild of your kextcache using this command in terminal:
Code:
sudo kextcache -i /
Then see if this solves your issue with stat reporting in HWMonitor.

Just wondering why you want to do a fresh install - have you been experimenting a lot with your current build, and want a fresh start, or just what to start-over with a newly-installed OS?

I also think MultiBeast is a great tool, but it helps if you know how it works, and what it's doing to your system. The only reason I don't use it, is that I feel more comfortable doing stuff manually, so when I do mess-up (which happens a lot with me :) ) I can see how & why I've messed up my build.

Pressing the power button (~ 4 seconds) to shut down your system might give you less problems.

Good idea! Is it necessary to disable SIP before rebuilding cache?

When in doubt start fresh! HWMonitor working fine - now I'll have to pay attention to all this.

Thanks for all your help on this.

Since when? I just saw a YouTube video that says they were fine.
