[Success] GIGABYTE Z370 Gaming 7 + Intel Core i7-8700K + RX 580 + (2x) Dell P2715Q 4k @ 60Hz

Hey Guys, just curios, was the delay on wake ever solved?
My RAM is 3600MHZ, I can't seem to set the multiplier back to 30 to get a workaround either. Don't know if it's somehow locked or I'm missing something.

It's the only thing nagging me about this build.

One thing is interesting though. If I boot from the Clover USB stick into the MacOS HD, it comes back from sleep much more quickly.
Any ideas?

All of my Hacks take a while to awake, especially compared to Linux or Windows. How long does it take yours?

I'm not sure what you mean by "I can't seem to set the multiplier back to 30 to get a workaround either.", can you elaborate?

The OP was talking about it around page 26 of this thread. And it is mentioned in the guide. About setting the multiplier to 30 to make wake faster.

My other hacks actually wake very fast, almost instantly. This current build is like 45 seconds. Same as what the OP was saying.

Hi @EdwardVH. I have mine on auto and don't have a sleep-wake issue. Takes less than 6 seconds to wake up.

I have 3600MHz DDR4 also and I just leave the settings at the defaults and then use Intel Extreme Memory Profile 1 (XMP) and let the BIOS set the RAM to its maximum speed. If you want to OC your RAM, I'd get the base settings working right first, then try OC.

Regarding the clover speed up thing, I have no idea, maybe an issue with your settings in config.sys or clover is loading a different macOS BIOS to your desktop config settings? Just a stab in the dark.

Hey jb, do you have any special DSDT SSDT?
or perhaps it's something to do with the installed Kexts I have.

Any chance of sharing your EFI folder?

Sorry, I think uploading my EFI folder breaks the rules of this forum. :problem:
But to get you where my 'Hack' is, I have my config.plist listed back on a previous post, and I'm also using an SDDT for my USB ports (I have all internal USB ports used by various items) and the file is also back on a previous post of mine.

You have a Gaming 5 motherboard, and I don't know if this is exactly the same as our Mobo in the BIOS and hardware etc.

I only have FakeSMC.kext in my /EFI/EFI/kexts/other. All other kexts are where they should be i.e. /Library/Extensions.

I'm running Clover r4674.

Code:
jb@Gigantor:~$ tree -L 1 /Library/Extensions/

Update on this... Just for shits and giggles I tried to set Darkwake=8
Now it wakes from sleep in 7 secs.
Hope that hasn't broken anything else.
I'm running Darkwake=0 since moving to Mojave, see this post of mine for the details.

What macOS are you running HS or Mojave? if HS then yes Darkwake=8 is your answer, but Mojave = 0 in my experience.

Yeah running HS... how was your upgrade to Mojave? Any dramas?

No, it went smooth as butter. See this post to how I did it. Don't forget UniBeast for Mojave wasn't out at this stage. Also, I don't use any Pro Audio apps like a lot of people do on macOS, so I can't vouch for the stability of Mojave using these apps, but for what I do I've had no real issues ATM.

Hey @jiffyslot... still your avatar with the dreaded 'circle of death'!? Hope you have got it going.:thumbdown
