[Guide] HP ProBook/EliteBook/Zbook using Clover UEFI hotpatch

Status
Not open for further replies.
Hi, this is my first post here.
I have an old 2570p on which i was running MacOS. It has a BCM843224HMS for wifi+bt. All good till 10.13.
Today i decided to format the device and install mojave beta.
Followed the guide completely. Got it up and running except for wifi. It was working fine with high sierra, but weirdly only wifi doesnt show up with mojave. Bluetooth is active, shows up, turns on and off.
I have attached the zip generated from the script at the end of the "problem reporting" post.
Little help please?
@RehabMan

SMBIOS whitelist issue.
I will not create a new WiFi SMBIOS whitelist patch until 10.14 is released.
For now, you could patch the table whitelist table.
Read about it here:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/broadcom-wifi-bluetooth-guide.242423/

Note: You should have installed BCM943252HMB, and you would not be dealing with this issue...

@RehabMan

I have 2570p too.
Suggest that you maybe installed one of the following wireless card:
BCM94322HM8L (Dual-Band 300M)
BCM94352HMB (Dual-Band 300M+867M)
BCM94360HMB (Dual-Band 300M+1300M)

SMBIOS whitelist issue.
I will not create a new WiFi SMBIOS whitelist patch until 10.14 is released.

Thanks for your reply.
I followed this
----------------------
Installation
FakePCIID_Broadcom_WiFi.kext
Download config-bcm94352-1x0.plist.zip (above)
use AirPort.Brcm4360 patches (10.12)
Paste patch to config.plist/KernelAndKextPatches/KextsToPatch
10.11+-Disable-Whitelist-check-RehabMan
Clover patch (not tested)
Download config-bcm94352-1x0.plist.zip (above)
Paste patch to config.plist/KernelAndKextPatches/KextsToPatch
10.13-Disable-Whitelist-check-RehabMan
AirportBrcmFixup.kext/native
-----------------------
First i tried to patch the config.plist with the disable whitelist check. Didn't work.
Then I tried AirportBrcmFixup.kext with/without -brcmfxbeta boot arg as suggested in the Readme.
Still didn't work.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks.

About wireless card there is no white list in 2570p.
Running RM's script can out of box to use these wireless card.
Good luck.
Really? Thats great! Thanks for the info.

FYI. Successfully updated my ProBook 4530s from 10.13.5 to 10.13.6 using the following procedure.

  1. Clone SDD with CCC
  2. Copy SSD EFI to backup HDD EFI to make it bootable
  3. Update from App store.
  4. Rebooted a few times times
  5. No sound, fixed as follows:
    1. cd ~/Projects/probook.git
    2. ./download.sh
    3. ./install_downloads.sh
  6. Reboot
  7. Everything else seems OK.
