I have a Z370 motherboard but with Coffee Lake processor, should I use this guide or some other as it seems that this is for Kaby Lake?

Z370 is Kaby Lake chipset, more Intel marketing nonsense.
Z390 is Coffee Lake chipset, when announced.

Okay, I am trying to get HDMI/DP audio on my Z370 Gigabyte Gaming 5 system running 10.13.6 with an nVidia MSI GTX 1080 TI.

And, unfortunately, it's not working.

I have analog audio via AppleALC. But I can't get my HDMI/DP audio to work with the speakers on my Monitor. I know the monitor can output audio via HDMI (actually DP), because in Windows it works.

I have tried Method 1 and Method 2, and they did not work. Method 3 involves some complex plist entries but I don't know which ones I should try, there are quite a few listed.

I should note that VoodooHDA HDMI/DP works, but it has lag and some other issues. So, that's a no-go.

Thoughts?
