pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

Try looking in your Console logs to see if there are any HDCP errors.

Nothing in the logs. I've just changed displayport on the GFX card. It seems to have improved, but I'll keep monitoring.
Thanks!

In the past, the people who have reported this issue saw a constant flow of HDCP errors. In some cases, changing cables and/or monitor fixed the issue.

Hi pastry chef,
First of all, thank you very much for this incredible work.
My old Hack was struck by lightning and I could quickly build a new one thanks to your post.
Yet I am the perfect (french!) nOOb who reads a lot of post but who understands nothing in reality!
Everything works perfectly except one of the USB ports that works only USB2 and not USB3 and audio monitor (Cinema led with audio via USB) that I need to redefine each start.
I made the detection of USB ports with IORegistryExplorer and I got a strange result: all my ports are on "@ 14 ...." except two that are on "@ 00 ..." but that work well (USB2 and USB3) !?!
Before I go further in the edition of USB ports, I think using your latest version of the EFI but I would like to keep my Serial, Board Serial, and UUID.
Do you have a "special nOOb procedure" for this?
once again thank you very much for fantastic work

Are you using SSDT for USB? If not, I highly suggest that you switch to it.

You can just copy/paste your existing Serial, Board Serial, and UUID when you update config.plist. Also, remember to copy/paste your Memory settings.

Thanks, pastrychef, for your work! I jumped in, read alot of information, and built my own Hack. Your guide proved to be very valuable!! Everything (seemingly) works. Curiously, HWMonitor doesn't show fan speeds nor voltages, and I see FakeSMC_LPCSensors is not loading. Any ideas about how I can troubleshoot this?

There are quite a few different branches of FakeSMC out there. I am using Rehabman's and make sure that you do not mix-n-match the accompanying kexts from other branches.

I, too, am using Rehabman's build...RehabMan-FakeSMC-2018-0403 Is there a log file somewhere that would indicate why LPCsensor isn't loading?

I don't know where to look for logs on that... It's possible that your motherboard just uses an unsupported LPC. I think my Asus uses Nuvoton LPC. Maybe try one of the other branches of FakeSMC?

THANK YOU pastrychef - this was my very first hackintosh and I followed your instructions as closely as I could (except only 16gb RAM, and using on-board video for now because I want a silent-as-possible computer).

Everything's working great! I'm SO relieved :)

Quick question - my current version of clover is 4458 - I think I may have accidentally installed clover separately during the process, I'm still not clear how the underlying EFI and config go together. That said, I did copy over all the changed files from your latest r3.5 collection (overwriting the necessary files from v3.3 that I had initially installed, and deleting apfs.efi) - no problems whatsoever.

Should I upgrade my version of Clover to latest? What would be the safest way to go about it?

FYI - I upgraded from Mac OS 10.3.5 to 10.3.6 last night, it worked like a charm!
