Try temporarily turning off the HD next to it and unplug the power.

I just did some more tests and definitely external drives cause issues with BT (headphones in my case)

Well, with the mac that keeps crashing with the Vega, I booted into windows for now. and guess what? perfect sound, no crackling of any kind.
Doesn't appear to support atpX however...

So it's something in macOS, doesn't appear to be hardware related.

Yeah the stutters come and go.

I’ve spent months trying to figure this out ie proper usb power and port modifications for the BT module but it never works perfectly.

It’s worth trying without an external hd attached for the sake of ruling it out based on that Intel white paper.

As far as the gpu issues maybe try a different slot. Do you have a cloned backup of macOS prior to the latest updates you can go back to?

One thing to keep in mind is if you’re using Time Machine you can totally install macOS fresh and restore from Time Machine even if it’s a hackintosh. Just need to build a new bootable USB.

Also see if you can run stress tests in Windows to see if the gpu is actually borked or not. It may be macos related.

@kgp since you use OSXWIFI as well, do you use Bluetooth headphones by any chance?

I've been getting constant stutters, I may be missing something. I sit next to the computer and tried 4 types of antennas.

Cheers! :thumbup::wave:

EDIT: Did some research and it seems (maybe)...USB 3.0 interference (ie a cable near the rear ports)....interesting. It must be related to the WD External HD's I'm using (along with G-Drive). The WD's most likely have zero shielding.

Interestingly enough there is an Intel white paper on USB 3.0 and 2.4Ghz wireless interference.

Sorry.. I just use HDAU to my LG 38 inch..

As far as Bluetooth is concerned: there are numerous "levels" of Bluetooth.
Bluetooth 5.0 is the latest, AFAIK. Probably most devices in use today are Bluetooth 4.0 or lower.
So: maybe there are some hardware improvements that are available when going from 4.0 -> 4.1 -> 4.2 -> 5.0, for example?

Hi KGP

Its worked now AppleALC

You have to add your SSDT

"alc-layout-id",
Buffer (0x04)
{
0x05, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00
},

Boot custom flags

-alcbeta alcid=5 alcaaplid=5 -lilubetaall

both SSDT and boot

For those of you having BT issues because of USB...

I replaced the onboard WiFI card with a DW1830 and have zero issues. WiFi and BT work without even attaching antennas. I had to find an antenna connector to replace the 802.11ad connector and also had to cut out the side of the metal cover (the DW1830 is a little wider than the original card). The white plastic shield is completely intact though, so it looks like it was never touched. You might find better luck by replacing the original WiFi card instead of using a PCIE card.

Hey guys I have a question about configuring audio on my system. A few months back when I built my system, I set it up with VoodooHDA and everything was working as expected. Most everything I use still works like hdmi audio from the GPU as well as usb and bluetooth headphones I use. I recently added a set of inexpensive logitech speakers hooked up to the motherboard in 5.1 configuration. Green line out, orange for center, and black for rear. I tested everything on my windows drive and everything works as expected. My question is whether or not the speakers will work in macOS hooked up this way or if it needs to be hooked up in a standard stereo configuration (since no macs that I'm aware of have a line out, center, and rear audio ports on them). If possible I would like to leave it in a 5.1 configuration as the speakers are really cheap don't work well in a stereo only config (lots of feedback for some reason, most likely defective). If I can use them hooked up 5.1 (even if sound is stereo only) what sound configuration should I use? Apple, Clover, Voodoo? Thanks guys!

Anyone having a problem with web driver for 17F77 ? My displays work correctly on boot but will not come back on after display sleep. Displays turn on and off repeatedly with no picture. I have had this issue before, but with the latest drivers it seems worse. Should I patch an old driver in the meantime? Is there a better fix to this issue? Waking from display sleep always takes longer than it should, even with older drivers.

I have the Vega FE and it’s not bad on my system. Case is closed and it’s not terrible. It idles around 600rpm sometimes 1600 if I have light gpu loads and on full load it goes to 2000rpm+ and it’s audible but not horrible.

Maybe RX Vega is worse

Sapphire RX Vega 56 Pulse

idle:
"Fan Speed(%)"=38
"Fan Speed(RPM)"=0
"Temperature(C)"=35

apart from the issue i mentioned in earlier in thread (fcpx h264 export using gpu) with this build its OOB (depends on your connectors though)
