The desert makes my hack faster:

Wooooow... :) Nearly 50.000 with the i9-7900X and 70.000 with the Vegas.. amazing. Guess I better don't benchmark my Nvidia without a really useful Web driver :lol:.. I hope we will not live the same unpleasant story like in 2017. I kindly asked them yesterday once more to provide a web driver as soon as possible. Let's see if they come up with one for the first pubic beta.

BTW.. did you see that I just came up with a small brother for our iMacPro X299?:

Well @morh, please let me know where are the flaws in my tutorial and I will correct them. o.k.? I guess the rest already has been discussed above.

No worries! The Vega SSDT part implemented on the tutorial doesn't work, it kills the SSDT implementation. This is a copy paste from the SSDT which apfelnico provided which does work.

Not really, as it does not do the ACPI replacement like I would like it to have. I tested the device implementation of the Vega depicted in the guide myself and it definitely works. There could be something missing in the definition block of the code snippet, which I just invented for the text version in the guide.

So if you really want to help, please correct the Vega text snippet and make it work. The same states for all other device snippets depicted in the text.

Have to agree that having both the source code of the SSDT and the clover configurator's config.plist in a version control system (github maybe?) would be much better to track down what has changed over time.

Everytime I resync I must look at every single file to find out what has changed , and update it accordingly for my motherboard.

If it was in github, you could at a glance find out what has changed making an update a breath

I will think about your suggestion when writing up a new 10.14 guide. In any case I definitely prefer to do it myself, and I still disagree that it should be done by others.

BTW.. the version control on Github is automatic? I simply have no time to commit additional efforts to document the version changes manually, even if this implies few additional work at your site which I think is more than acceptable. The guide is too complex to do so, sorry. We are not talking about a single code implementation, like in case of many other examples on GitHub.

Also a code published on Github should be mature and should live at most a few further minor changes. I don't think that for instance with the TB-SSDT we already reached such level of sophistication.

I would just use the main SSDT as it is, including the additional Vega Guide snippet to be dragged by copy and paste.

The individual code snippets depicted in the guide for now are just figurative, should provide some additional information and general overview, but have not been tested individually. The main SSDT code works as a whole.. I never had the intention to brake it into individual snippets.

Users usually just have to adopt the ACPI path in the SSDT to their particular system and slot configuration and can drop device implementations not useful for their particular system application.

In case of a system SSDT it is nearly impossible to provide the perfect Swiss army knife, all-in-one device for every purpose or jack of all trades device. People always will have to learn to adopt the device snippets to their particular system and slot configuration. I can't and I won't do this work for each individual.. believe me, in writing up all this stuff I already spent 100x more time than anybody else during it's simple adaptation.

Remove the video card entries from your existing SSDT. Use this SSDT additionally.

With this SSDT it will boot fine once. However, every reboot after that will boot in either a pink or blue screen and the system is frozen.
The only way to make the graphics card work again for me is to boot into windows. Which will reinitilalise the card and from that point, I can boot into windows again.

Removing the last 3 keys of the DSM method prevent this problem from happening.
I have a vega frontier edition 16GB
 
If you have something like Chrome open (which has hardware acceleration enabled) the fans will kick up a bit. Try restarting and having no apps open and it will be at 600 ish RPM.

It seems that .5 has some GPU changes level changes.

I was getting 600RPM even with something like Chrome open which was just idling.

Just out of curiosity, what video cards (AMD or NVidia) can be used in a High Sierra Hackintosh, that do NOT have these fan speed issues?
