Is CSM disabled?

Can you try an HDMI cable instead?

Yes CSM is disabled.

I will try with HDMI.

I didn't go with HDMI because the cables were more expansive than the DisplayPort ones when I was buying stuff in a local store.
I wil give it a try.

You are using HDMI for your built ?

No, I have 2 Apple Cinema Displays (27" non thunderbolt) and I go from MiniDisplayPort to DisplayPort > Vega.

It's just odd with the issues you're having. Vega should be the easiest for a Hackintosh.

FYI 10.13.5 is out, haven't upgraded yet. Will do tonight. Should be straightforward as usual (best part of a 'vanilla' Hackintosh) :D

Update went OK. First boot gave me a black screen when selecting "Install" partition, but did a hard reset and it went smooth from MAS.

Feels a little snappier.

I know, Vega should be cool. I don't know why I have this issue. And I'm not the only one, as I said in a prevoius post, Nachosband have the exact same issue (post #8061). So weird.

I will try soon 10.13.5 to see if it's better.

Your Vega FE is it working better with this last update ?

Vega FE seems to run the same, but the overall system feels a little better.

By .6 High Sierra we should be pretty solid and that should be the last update for High Sierra.

One thing I noticed is with 10.13.5 and latest apfs, boot time is a tad slower with the 970 Pro NVMe....

My update to 10.13.5 went smoothly, except for one thing: the mod to the AMD10000Controller.kext for the Vega FE "do not run fan at 100%" fix, no longer works.

Yeah I saw others said the same.

Apple must be refining things under the hood for the eGPU support introduced in 10.13.4.

My fan runs around 640RPM on idle.

Is that a clover patch or are you editing the controller?

Your Cinebench i9-7900X (10-core) @?.?GHz score of 2190 at least suits well my Cinebench Broadwell-E i7-6950X (10-core) @4.3Ghz score of 2252... :)

That was without any OC so 3.30GHz. My BIOS settings got cleared today somehow when I removed the motherboard to add a new antenna wire to my DW1830, so after setting up the BIOS again and updating to 10.13.5, I have new scores. Still without OC.
