Hi Malki,

I already install high Sierra 10.12.3 and all parts is working, thanks a lot for guide.

I just have one problem, the cpu always working on turbo mode. I checked with several app (intel power gadget, istat, hwpower)

I used Sierra 10.12.6 without any problem

Do you have any idea ?

Buttery smooth as always @malki thanks so much!
Do you have HWmonitor running on High Sirerra?
Also has anyone changed the system definition on this build? Is it crucial that it's set to iMac?

Hi @malki,

Thank you so much for all your hard work on this guide!

I am having a problem where after running the Photos app for a few minutes, my entire system freezes. I don't experience this problem using any other app, although I do see a similar problem when working with the Desktop & Screen Saver option in System Preferences. I assume it is activating the same (background?) process as Photos that is causing the freeze.

Any ideas?

there should be no problems if you using the same motherboard and cpu as me. if you have a diff mobo and cpu i cannot guarantee anything. This guide is only guaranteed for the Gigabyte X99 Ud4 motherboard with the Intel I7 5820k Cpu

No I dont have hw monitor running. I checked power consumption with intel power gadget everything was fine (check my post at the bottom of the first page).

I like to keep the system definition on imac as its the default for multibeast and does not cause problems for me. The times when I tried to change it to Mac Pro 6.1 I always had problems on upgrading. I keep imac, it's easier for me, but you can do whatever.

wow. Sorry to hear that. i do not use the photos app. I havent had any freezes on High Sierra. And desktop / screensaver causes no problems for me. Maybe gfx card? Otherwise, Try Adobe Photoshop!

Hi,

So one month since High Sierra 10.13.2 , everything seems ok, except for a sudden crash causing reboot from time to time (+/- 1x week).

But now CPU is starting to overheat while rendering. Tried changing the cables on PSU (which helped with other versions) but not this time... I also can't get HW Monitor to start fan control on my command so thats also a no there...

Any clues on how to get this CPU Cooler to work proper?

one H115i + 2 ML 140 + 2 ML 120 + 3 120mm

what cpu are you using? your bio says e5 1650? maybe that cpu can't take the stress?

H115i is a good cpu cooler. It was actually easier to setup for me than my old Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo which is supposed to be a good air cooler (I didn't like the fact it would slide around on my cpu if you put any pressure on it, even though I had it as tight as it could go).

I had no problems setting up the H115i. I mean its pretty simple. Just screw it into your mobo onto a clean cpu screw the fans in, plug in the wires and your set.

The only annoying that I need to do with that cpu cooler is disconnect the USB cable that comes with it from my mobo. I've used the app maybe 1 time. Recently windows keeps saying "usb error" every time i boot up. lol. I've disabled it in windows and it still gives the error. I actually forgot i had that cpu cooler thats how long it's been since I looked inside my computer. lol.

Yup, it is e5 1650, and it sure can't take the stress  I'm not overclocking btw

The h115i was easy to setup, never gave any trouble..only when i started booting from different osx's and maybe the fan splitter i added for the extra fans.

I'm also going to disable that usb you mention, and if that dont do the trick, terminate the fan splitter ...

Will get back soon, thanks

sell & buy a 5820k. That is a solid cpu imo. I think it has life for a few more years. 2-5 years more life probably. of course, depends on your workload. The only thing I see mine having some trouble with is intensive high bitrate 4k video processing with effects. Then I see some slowdown, however cpu isn't being fully utilized in the app. So there is room for improvement on coding side too. Other than that it's pretty much a solid processor.
