WHAT????
You wanna swap out an soldered Chip from the mainboard? What are you guys talking about ?

 Nah man. Not at all lmao. Asus boards have a Wifi module called "Wifi GO!" just talking about swapping it out with a Mac supporting M.2 to replaced it with. This is assuming the Wifi GO! module on all our motherboards use the M.2 form factor and not the ones used for half mini PCIe

So far from experience I've had freezeing/KP after 17h, 15h and 13h of uptime (no load, just a couple of apps running, sleep disabled). So it's a bit random. @AnaktuvGod had his after 2 days from what he said. It appears that restarting the computer just resets the counter.

If we can confirm that sleep/wake also triggers the exact same KP and it is resolved by pike's patch, then it could be that the issue has definitely something to do with it like you mention.

As for now I have 15h of uptime, I'm not using Pike's patch I just want to test some changes I've made in Clover. But hopefully it will trigger a freeze soon so I can test your scenario.

If sleeping is "allowed", at the moment uptime for me is just over 21h with 4 sleep/wake cycles.
Longest so far is multiple days with tens of sleep/wake cycles, even longer what I reported here (close to 72 hours with over 20 sleep/wake cycles) after enabling the patch.

Yes I did start the install process but now I get this message. Did I miss something again?

* The installer got corrupted. Create the install USB again.

* You have the wrong installer for your SMBIOS. For example, you have the normal installer and have the iMacPro1,1 SMBIOS, or have the iMac SMBIOS with the iMacPro installer.

I don’t think that this will work besides of the warranty lose. But I am open for a solution brought by someone other.

What do you mean it won't work?

You just swap the m.2 module. If anything goes wrong just put in the old one and screw things back together.

I coudn't pass this "macos could not be installed on your computer" error.

I did check the time in terminal, correct, I have fakeSMC.kext and I am not using the EmuVariableUefi.efi. Also I tried to change the serial number, but I guess it wound work for the install process anyway.

Any advice? Thanks for the previous helps too!

EDIT: already replied!

Also has anyone tried implementing some AirPort Express possibilities on our boards? (M.2 WiFi) by swapping out the existing wifi card in the Asus GO! module with a Broadcom one? I would like to know has anyone had success in this field as I'm looking into grabbing for the iX299 Pro. I notice different Broadcom wifi cards (BCM94352Z mainly) with some ending with AE. Could this be an indication of Airport Express capable?

Slightly different version from BCM94352Z (shown - BCM94350Z-AE). AirPort Extreme capable?

I just ordered BCM94352Z from eBay (New). Will update here when I receive it and have time to test.

I really want to free up a slot too, it seems like a good idea in general. OSX Wifi module is pretty old at 300Mbps, but works well.

@AnaktuvGod @Thireus Here is something for you guys since I‘m a little bit tired of reading it...

Sleep... sleep well my dear!

Like you guys know I have an Asus X299 Deluxe Motherboard and also an X299 Designare by Gigabyte and you know what?

Sleep is working perfectly!
It did from the beginning, no ssdt‘s no edits, no injects... absolutely clean!!!

How the hell have you achiev this? May someone ask of you!

Simple:

I just use a native graphics card and never faced any issues besides of problems in beta versions with it.

On regular releases Sleep works native with my Vega cards.

So what I wanna say to you guys?

Your Nvidia cards are in some of a Kind way the problem beside of other possible problems which are non visible to you.

I don’t use any patches by pike at all on my setups and it works... native!!!

Okay, that's something we'll consider as well to debunk the issue, thanks for your input. But I'm having a hard time understanding how this can be related to @JimmyS's input when he states that using pike's patch resolved the sleep issue for him. Pike's patch is CPU related, not GPU related, how can it link to the fact we have NVidia GPUs? Any clue?

That's all I'm trying to say lmfaooo. It aint always gotta be that hard @DSM2 .. simple swap, doesn't work, swap back out. No biggie, no harm done.

No BS something keeps telling me to get get a spare radeon for this.... I would like to test this out but unfortunately I don't have Vega 56 or 64 money now especially with the b!tmining folks making it hard to get any graphics card at a normal price. Would you happen to know the the most absolute radeon rx or r3 or any of those cards that's supported oob?

I think there maybe truth to this as when I attempt to wake from long periods... the iX299 Pro wakes up (lights, fans, etc...) but the display looks black screen froze (my monitor powered up backlight wise from sleep state but didn't show a display).

I wonder...
