pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

@pastrychef

Just a quick question.

Can you confirm that MacOs recognizes the 5 ghz ooverclock on your system?

I followed the same video as you, but the monitors only show the 4,7 ghz.

Here are my scores

After lots of trial and error, I finally got my AQC107 based 10GBase-T ethernet card working 100%. The AQC107 is the same chipset used in the new iMac Pro for its 10GBase-T ethernet. However, my card did not initially work. I had to join the macOS Public Beta program and install macOS 10.13.3 beta 6. This beta did something to the firmware on my AQC107 card and it started working. I also had to change my CSM setting in BIOS from Disabled to Enabled (I have updated post #1 to reflect this.) The only down side to Enabling CSM that I am aware of is that the Clover boot menu will not boot in to my monitor's native resolution.

I have the Gigabyte GC-AQC107. Forum member, d5aqoep, is using the Asus ROG AREION 10G. Both are working 100%.

Big thanks to d5aqoep for helping me get this up and running and for discovering the trick to install the macOS beta.

Thanks for the awesome guide and EFI folder.

Just a question, how do you confirm HEVC and Quick Sync are working? I have my HD630 recognized in iStat menus but the Mhz is always at 0, is it normal? FCPX works flawlessly but it also works without having the iGPU active and export times are the same... this is confusing...!

Also some guides say you have to use FakePCIID in order to use HD630 with the proper ig-platform-id but I don't see those in your EFI.

I just don't know how to confirm that my iGPU is doing something...

Thanks

Download the following "camp" video and play it in QuickTime. Monitor your CPU usage while the video is playing. If HEVC is not working, CPU usage will spike.
Sony: Camping In Nature HDR UHD 4K Demo | 4K Media

Download the trial of MacX Video Converter Pro.
[OFFICIAL] MacX Video Converter Pro - Best HD/4K Video Converter and Downloader
Launch it and click on the little blue info button. If it says "Hardware Encoding Supported: YES", QuickSync is enabled.

Are you overclocked? My rig with same specs gets MC score of 26267

Are you able to play/stream iTunes movies with this build? HDCP ok?
