No Audio Devices - AppleHDA Realtek Audio

Oops, sorry about that. I'm not sure I'm getting the log files correctly, but the version in the attached should be more comprehensive than in the previous. Have tried through Console but don't see the option in Problem Reporting Step 5 (Copy Of Console/All Messages (last boot)/File/Save a Copy As..), is there a different way to get the info you require?

For this, I just restarted (no clean install or changes) from my last clean install, for which the process I used is reprinted below so you don't have to scroll back:
  1. In existing install with no audio devices: mount EFI and delete EFI folder
  2. Restart, boot from USB in BIOS, USB in Clover
  3. Disk Utility: wipe boot drive
  4. Install OS X
  5. During install process, two automatic restarts, in both cases: boot from USB in BIOS, boot drive in Clover
  6. Complete install process, run MultiBeast for Clover, FakeSMC plugins, network, system definition (iMac 13,2)
  7. Restart, boot from boot drive in BIOS, boot drive in Clover
  8. Mount EFI
  9. Copy cloverALC folder to desktop
  10. Run cloverALC, detected 892 "y", inject "y", Audio ID 1 "y"
  11. Restart

Thanks very much for your help

Here they are.
It is now clear, there are at least 2 EFI partitions
Clover boots from a different EFI than the EFI 892 is installed
Reply with Terminal output from:
Terminal/diskutil list

That's weird, I wonder how that happened. Here's the terminal output you requested.

Here's the terminal outpu
2 EFI partitions, choices:
1. BIOS/../Boot - select the correct disk for Clover
2. cloverALC, mount the other EFI partition and run
Restart, reply with new files.

You're right! I rebooted selecting a different option in my BIOS (UEFI: Samsung 840) and I have audio devices, as you can see in the attached! Unfortunately, it would seem that over the optical connection, I still don't have sound (thought the red light in the optical cable is visible when I click play on youtube/itunes, my receiver doesn't seem to get anything). I didn't do anything else (didn't run cloverALC again). Interestingly, my front USB ports no longer work when booting this way, not sure why.

So 2 questions:
  • Most importantly, is there a reason you can see that I don't have sound still?
  • How do I clean this up - should I just do another clean install? Change my BIOS settings?
Thank you so much for troubleshooting!

IT WORKED! Thank you so much. I did a clean install, followed the main guide:
  • rearranged boot priority in the BIOS (I think the APFS partitioning may have been to blame as it creates several new ones), and was careful to check which drive was being booted through install/restart process
  • completed install process still booted from USB in BIOS, ran through MultiBeast excluding Audio
  • restarted, booted from boot drive EFI in BIOS, boot drive in Clover
  • did cloverALC process
  • restarted again
  • sound working!! (front panel USB and rear USB 3.0 still not working but that's a battle for later on)
  • optical audio out working (haven't tested other plugs)
Really truly thank you, toleda and Tonymac community.
