Radeon Compatibility Guide - ATI/AMD Graphics Cards

its not worth it if your using it for fcpx, my two old r9 280 are outperforming it easily.
I'm running one R9 280X. So are you saying that I'd be better off getting second one instead of exchanging it for a Vega?

I have Vega 64 , but can't export in FCPX to apple devices H264
You can if you activate your iGPU. H264 exports will be done through quicksync while opencl acceleration will be done through your Vega

I'm running a Vega 56 OOTB but some crashes every so often.. especially when using Discord.. is this the norm at the moment? Or do I need to make some changes?

I've solved it through SMBIOS, all good now

After upgrading to High Sierra I've been seing GUI instability when using my R9 380 with Lilu and WhateverGreen. It used to be rock solid on 10.12, but now the system hangs from time to time. It's usually the GUI, the mouse pointer being the only part that remains "moving".

I see no problems whatsoever when using my iGPU.

If anyone could kindly shed some light on what I could do to mitigate this problem I would be immensely grateful.

Finally figured it out... I used multibeast to add Whatevergreen and it worked. Booted normally.

Have 4K and audio which is great. Now just need 60hz... currently defaulting to 30hz.

Hey man that's awesome news. Those XFX cards typically don't have a reference design so they tend to have problems without frame buffer connector patching

New MSI 580 card arrived to replace my XFX 580. Installed it...and still I can’t boot without a black screen. So the XFX card was fine.

Completely stumped. Tried just about everything I can think of and nothing seems to get me past the problem. Everything I read here makes it sound so simple... add the kexts and it should work. But every time, the system freezes at boot.

Safe mode works and the card runs in 4K on the Mac driver.

If you are using HDMI port it only supports 30Hz, try Displayport for 60Hz.
