[Guide] Avoid APFS conversion on High Sierra update or fresh install

@RehabMan, If you won't mind, a question out of curiosity, will a future macOS system update like 10.13.1 or above attempt to convert our forced HFS+J partition to an APFS one?

Or, is it just the original macOS High Sierra installer downloaded from the AppStore that attempts to convert from HFS+J to APFS.

Regards

I cannot predict the future.

There are a few things fixed in High Sierra. And a few things easier to implement (NVMe, for example).
Ciao.
Certainly. I said this just as a provocation.
But I wonder: on macs are the same problems with the new file system?
If not, what and where should a hackintosh adjustment take place?
Thanks for your attention.

Very likely on Macs with non-Apple SSDs.

Hey there, looking towards upgrading to 10.13 (both on actual Mac and Hackintosh) and was wondering if there's a reason why I wouldn't want to go to Apple's new file system? Both machines have separate drives (SSDs) for macOS and Windows, so neither are partitioned.

There certainly are. See this thread where folks are complaining about slow boot times and turning OFF TRIM to get around the problem.

Depends on the SSD you have.
For some SSDs you will need to disable TRIM.
You will find out when you try it.
