[solved] Really slow start-up 5-6 mins always

Hi VioletDragon - The information above is no longer current as far as configuration goes.

I did follow your guide and am using post_install_nvidia_graphics but I did open it with CC to add my BIOS information. I can try it again but with a clean version of the nvidia config to see if that helps.

Thanks for your help.

PS - what I should really do is get rid of this thread a start a new one because the information is so old.

Fixed the files for you. Use Z77N-WIFI Repo instead. Make sure to use Xcode when editing the config. Follow H77N-WIFI guide but use Z77N-WIFI fork instead. Clone fork using,

Code:
mkdir~/Z77N-WIFI-Clover-Hotpatch-Patches
cd~/Z77N-WIFI-Clover-Hotpatch-Patches
git clone https://github.com/VoiletDragon/Z77N-WIFI-Clover-Hotpatch-Patches.git

Thank you so much! I will let you know how it goes.

(Make sure to use Xcode when editing the config) - Can I use Text Wrangler or is that not a good idea?

Better to use Xcode or PlistEdit Pro.

I have just added Support to post_install_nvidia_graphics for High Sierra Audio. SSDT-GFX0 has Pin configs. No need to use CloverALC. Will need to re-clone the Fork.

Hi VioletDragon - I tried your configs on my system and was not able to get it to start. Updated with the SSDT-GFX0 and post_install_nvidia. I know that SSDT-GFX0 is part of the problem as when I went back to the old version, I was able to startup.

I haven't tried post_install_nvidia with the old GFX0

My config is a modified version of post_install_nvidia. When I tried it yesterday it wouldn't start. Your acpi patches had some that weren't in the "List of Patches" so I removed them and things worked. It might have been a bad idea but I was able to get the computer to startup.

In all cases there is a HID Legacy shim 2 problem. It causes me a 4 min delay everytime I start up. This started as soon as I updated to HS.

"No need to use CloverALC" - Should I have removed AppleALC from my kext folder?

Thanks and regards

"VioletDragon said "I’ve been running GM fine without any issues." - but you didn't go APFS right?

I wonder if that is what is causing my startup delay. It waits and when I hear the CD spin up, I know I will be able to signin soon.

I have the same issue like you. it take 7 min to start up. try to fix 2 day. and it hang 3 time (60s). the pcl8086,100, nvdagl and IQResources.

I have seen those same problems. I saw them when I had more entries in my DSDT. I just made it so that I didn't have any other DSDT entries than what is in this list. The problem went away.

Not sure if I lost something but I was able to startup.

I know that the new SSDT-GFX0 is part of the problem as when I went back to the old version, I was able to startup.

Was I supposed to remove AppleALC? Lilu?

As mentioned before, things appear to be running fine, it just takes a long time to startup.

Thanks and regards
