Hey guys,
It's been a while since i dropped a question here for a build.
I recently upgraded from a late 2011 17" Macbook Pro to a HP Omen mid 2017 (the brand new series that just released).
My specifications are as follows:

Product name: OMEN by HP - 17-an015ng
Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-7700HQ
Chipset: Intel® HM175
Memory, standard: 16 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (2 x 8 GB)
Video graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1070 (8 GB GDDR5 dedicated)
SSD: 512 GB Samsung NVMe
Hard drive: 1 TB 7200 rpm SATA
Display: 43.9 cm (17.3") diagonal 4K IPS anti-glare WLED-backlit (3840 x 2160)
Wireless connectivity: Intel® 802.11b/g/n/ac (2x2) Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® 4.2 Combo
Network interface: Integrated 10/100/1000 GbE LAN
Expansion slots: 1 multi-format SD media card reader
External ports: 1 Thunderbolt™ 3 (Data Transfer up to 40 Gb/s, DP1.2, HP Sleep and Charge); 3 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (1 HP Sleep and Charge); 1 Mini DisplayPort™; 1 HDMI; 1 RJ-45; 1 headphone/microphone combo; 1 microphone-in
Webcam: HP Wide Vision HD Camera with integrated dual array digital microphone
Audio features: Bang & Olufsen; HP Audio Boost; Dual speakers

As I am quite known with hackintoshing I started enthousiastic with some installing and googling.
Within no time i installed Sierra, Clover and the Nvidia Quaddro/Cuda drivers. Banging that beauuuuuutifull 17" 4K display which is automatically treated by OS X as retina <3 OoB scaling :D (also my hdmi and minidisplay port work perfectly fine except for audio at this point.
I installed Rehabman's VoodooPS2controller and it seemed to work for both build in keyboard and trackpad. (just installed the latest version from july 22)
Though after this point I got into some issues and I need some help.

- My main problem is that booting OSX messes with my bios, in such way that both windows and the pc themself arent able to detect the battery anymore. I cant boot without powersupply. This problem isnt solvable until i reflash the BIOS (no factory default isnt working either :( )

- Rehabman's ACPIBatteryManager isn't working, but I cant figure out if this is related to the above mentioned BIOS issue at this point. It shows no battery available. And its the latest available at his bucket page :)

- Beside that, my sound isn't working, but I cant Figure out what Audio codec i use.
Where the website of HP Shows me Realtek High-Definition (HD) audio-driver (and thats what windows says as well)
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0295&SUBSYS_103C8393&REV_1000\4&37dd476f&0&0001

booting to Ubuntu 17.04 tells me the folowing with lspci:
001f.3 Audio device: Intel Corporation Device a171 (rev31)

- Last thing, i have build in Thunderbolt 3 and it doesnt show up, though i have nothing really to test it, does anyone know if this works OoB because the latest macbooks have them or do i need a Kext?

Who can help me with those final points?

Q. Does Sierra 10.12.x work?
Need to use 10.12.6 because of the KabyLake processor and OoB KabyLake support on 10.12.6

Q. What if I don't have access to a Mac?
Irrelevant, I do have a Mac Pro 5.1 and Macbook Pro 17" 2011

Irrelevant, allready passed this step

Q. Is there a guide for my laptop?

Irrelevant, Windows is running from the NVMe which i dont want to be reachable from OS X. (2TB SSHD Drive is installed for storage and OSX)

Q. Is my laptop compatible?

- CPU and chipset series: i7-7700HQ, Seems to work fine.
- Discrete graphics: GTX 1070, runs without problems with the Nvidia Driver.
- WiFi: Intel Dual-Band Wireless-AC7265 (Bluetooth/Wifi Combo), out of the question, WiFi is probably not going to work, allready researched that.
- Ethernet: Realtek RTL8168H/8111H Working Out of Box in Sierra.
- Audio: Don't have an idea yet, Windows tells me Realtek, Linux tells me Intel. (see details in my first post)
- Camera: HP Wide Vision HD Camera, USB 3.0 Works out of box
- Card reader: Not working yet not directly my main concern (PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_522A&SUBSYS_8393103C&REV_01\4&33ADB562&0&00E6)
- Bluetooth: Intel Dual-Band Wireless-AC7265 (Bluetooth/Wifi Combo), Bluetooth side works fine, tested with my Teufel Concept E bluetooth speakers

Irrelevant, i did however needed the EmuVariableUefi-64.efi in drivers64UEFI to get my nvidiagraphics flag to be saved.

Q. Is Kaby Lake supported?
Noted in the last update for 10.12.6 : https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/macos-10-12-6-update.224836/

FYI: A FAQ is meant to answer questions you might have. It is not a list of questions for you to answer.

Problems:
- CPU PM not implemented
- GPU PM not implemented
- ACPI not patched (no surprise battery status does not work, likely the cause of your battery status problems in other systems)
- kexts not installed correctly (see post #2 of the laptop Clover guide)
- realtekALC.kext has no application to ALC295
- huge amount of garbage in Clover/kexts/Other
- config.plist not based on laptop Clover guide
- USB is not configured correctly (plan on custom SSDT for USBInjectAll.kext)

Also, keep in mind Thunderbolt usually doesn't work unless you plug something in prior to boot.

Hey,
Sorry for my late response, I haven't had time so far up until today.
I started with parts of you list.
I cleaned out the kext folder of clover. I used a Sata kext pack at the time but never cleaned it.
Just installed that what was needed out of the other folder of clover into the S\L\E folder with a kext tool.
With exception of the USBInjectall.kext since you mentioned that i figured we needed that later on.

Besides that i also cleaned out the realtekALC.kext since that was part of a tryout finding the right codec for the audio.

Anyway Where do you recommend me to start from here? I updated the list.

Then it might be a smart idea to start at the AHCI Patching, although i tried it a few times before in the past, I never was succesfull. We still had a guide around here right?

Also, you mentioned in the list:
- kexts not installed correctly (see post #2 of the laptop Clover guide)
I recon installing them instead of leaving them at the kext folder is what you meant? (just like I did this weekend)

This looks like a decent hack, especially the discrete Nvidia card working oob, hdmi and display port, i believe you can patch audio to get it fully working so you don't use voodoohda
I am really interested to know when you get almost everything working fine and update on the hack perfomance
Request: Please run the geek-bench (benchmark) to see how much you get

Do you have any guide details for this installation? I have a very similar HP Omen laptop and have been trying to get OSX installed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
