[Guide] Airport - PCIe Half Mini v2

Status
Not open for further replies.
BCM94352 requirements:
- FakePCIID.kext + FakePCIID_Broadcom_WiFi.kext
- 'fcvo' patch by the-darkvoid
- optional: appropriate country code patch

Thank you thank you thank you! I finally got wifi working!
For newbies who didn't understand the instructions, it's a relatively simple task of using Clover Configurator, mounting the boot drive EFI partition, and editing /EFI/CLOVER/config.plist (select "Kernel and Kext Patches") in the left-hand panel following the-darkvoid's instructions (ie. putting each string in the relevant column in the KextsToPatch panel)

I think I'll get a couple beers and a good night's sleep before tackling bluetooth tomorrow

Screenshot is not relevant; Handoff and Hotspots are independent and different features.
Only non Apple person that knows how Handoff works is dokterdok and his solution assumes native hardware; no ideas.

Logging out of and back in to iCloud solved the issue.

Interesting enough I was able to get Handoff/ Hotspot / 5GHz all working with AW-CE123H card. Seems it can work with non-native cards if you follow this forum's advice and instructions (closely!!)

I did purchase a native BCM94360CD card and am trying now to get this card to work in another (identical) setup. Bluetooth is working but WiFi is showing powered off. Still debugging this one!

[Solved]

I'm so close.. (macOS Sierra 10.12.5)

I have the AW-CE123H (BCM94352HMB) installed. I was able to follow the first part off the guide(s) and get WiFi working (with 5ghz), however I then moved on to getting Bluetooth working. Well now Bluetooth is up and functions like a champ but WiFi is now showing an "X" and stating "No hardware installed"....

Suggestions??? Thank You!!!
---------------
I needed to add "fvco: the-darkvoid #1" kext replacement!!

What did you do in the end to get Bluetooth working? I have the same card, with 5Ghz wifi working (via the-darkvoid fvco kext replacement). Just 10 minutes ago I tried installing BrcmPatchRAM.kext using Kext Wizard to /System/Library/Extensions (I'm assuming I understood the instructions correctly), rebooted, and not only did Bluetooth not show up, even wifi was disabled (with wifi logo crossed out). I had to unload BrcmPatchRAM.kext and reboot again to get wifi back.

2 kexts required, see Post #1/Step 2/Enable BT
Thanks, I was confused by all of the different sets of instructions for bluetooth. However, I just tried installing BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext and BrcmPatchRAM2.kext to /System/Library/Extensions/, rebooted, and bluetooth doesn't show up (System Reports says No Information Found, and bluetooth doesn't appear in System Preferences). I'm guessing this has to do with missing the instructions in the first step ("USB Issues/no BT", USB fixes and solutions), but I've gone through both threads and can't understand what I should be doing in my situation.

Sorry if these all seem like completely noob questions, I've been out of the loop for several years now and have a lot of catching up to do

EDIT: ah nvm, I discovered I hadn't properly unloaded BrcmPatchRAM.kext I installed earlier, I went to /System/Library/Extensions, deleted BrcmPatchRAM.kext, reinstalled BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext and BrcmPatchRAM2.kext, rebooted, and now both wifi and bluetooth work. Thanks to everyone who helped with these noob problems!

Can somone please help?

1. nature of problem: I cannot turn on Wifi. I'm using apple airport card (BCM94360CD)

I tried turning it on via System Preferences => Network and using "networksetup -setairportpower en4 on".

I've also tried using the x4 and x1 slots in my board. As a test, I removed my 4-port Intel gigabit card so only the video card and the WiFi card are installed. Same results.

2. hardware setup: using Sierra on Gigabyte X58-UD4 board with Xeon x5650 + AMD 5870 video card

3. procedure used: not sure if needed since my card has built-in drivers

4. screenshots and other files (clover config.plist and etc) are in the attachment. I didn't modify my DSDT/SSDT for WiFi.

edit1: I had the Intel 4-port gigabit NIC initially and these are using built-in drivers. I installed the Apple Airport card only yesterday.

edit2: so I shifted the my video card into the secondary video card slot and now my Wi-Fi is getting "turned on'. The problem is that the card keeps on turning on and off every 2 seconds. My board has 4 PCIe slots (2x full slots, 1 x4 and 1 x1). I tried the primary video card slot, x4 and x1 and I get the same results. better than when I started but still having major issues.

edit3: I installed windows and WiFi and BT worked using bootcamp drivers. From what I understand/read, it's supposed to not work since the bootcamp drivers are checking what kind of machine/setup is being used.

Hi guys,

I know Intel Wi-Fi is a no go, but is it possible to get bluetooth working from one of these Intel cards? My GA-Z270N-WIFI has an Intel 8265 NGW card and my hackintosh is recognising the bluetooth capability but it just never finds any BT devices.

I have ordered a USB dongle with a compatible Broadcom chip but if I can make this work in the meantime that'd be cool :)

I managed to change the Country Code of the Airport Card by modifying the 5GHz US/FCC Clover Patch ! :)
Code:
Custom FR BCM94352 5 GHz (>10.10.3)
Name AirPortBrcm4360
Find 41 83 FC FF 74 2C 48
Replace 66 C7 06 46 52 EB 2B

FR 46 52

You can modify it with your own 2-letters country code :
Code:
Custom ?? BCM94352 5 GHz (>10.10.3)
Name AirPortBrcm4360
Find 41 83 FC FF 74 2C 48
Replace 66 C7 06 ?? ?? EB 2B
Codes mentioned in AirPortBrcm4360 ... but not tested yet ! (except FR DE US CA GB)
Code:
AE AF AR AT AU AZ BD BE BG BN BR BT BY CA CH CL CN CO CR CY CZ DE DK DO EC EE EG ES FI FR GB GR GT GU HK HN HR HU ID IE IL IN IS IT JM JO JP KH KR KZ LA LI LK LT LU LV MA MM MN MO MT MV MX MY NI NL NO NP NZ PA PE PH PK PL PR PT PY RO RS RU SA SE SG SI SK SV TH TR TT TW UA US UY VE VI VN ZA

More informations : here
Is there any proper 3x3:3 b/g/n/ac half mini card that is compatible with hackintosh?

Can i use this patch in Sierra for BCM943602CS Card or is it only for BCM94352?
(I'm in France and before my locale was ROW and country code was X2)
thanks
