After using kext beast to install lilu.kext and intelgraphicsfixup.kext (for 10.12.5's blank screen issue) I get a kernel panic on booting up. My version of clover is 2.3k rev 3766 if that's at all relevant.

I'm quite at a loss at what to do next.

Is it ok to just delete the kext directories from /Library/Extensions?
If so how do I get into a state where I can even just delete them?

UPDATE: Jump to Solution #13

I'd defo update clover first... I think that's a pretty old version.

I have the same issue and don't know a solution yet. My 10.12.5 install is brand new so I didn't migrate from 10.12.4. I have the latest of the latest, Clover and all that.

wincenboot off your initial Unibeast USB drive, and disable Intel Inject in Clover options. As soon you get to the drive you can manually delete the LiLu and Intelgraphifix from /Library/Extensions

Reboot and you should be backup for now until a fix is being identified.

I see a lot of folks with this issues but nobody presented a resolution or how they fixed it.

Is gotta be specific to my system. I have the latest Intel Kaby Lake i7-7700k. I tried installing 10.12.0 or 10.12.5 with the same results kernel panic after Lilu and Intelgraphicsfixup kext.

Anyone with Intel Kaby Lake i7-7700k successful at installing these kexts?

Unfortunately my unibeast boot usb now freezes up during boot; I'm not sure why as I've made no changes to it.

Is there a way to update clover without booting into the OS since I can't boot into it? I've been looking but haven't found a way.

Boot off your USB drive by selecting the drive you install OSX on. I think this was your second step during your initial install. Make sure your USB is in the BIOS as your first startup device. At that point you should be able to bring up Clover mount your disk EFI partition not the USB and do the changes you need to do.

Have same issue with no solution. Strange that igfx.kext 1.1.0 can be installed separately beside lilu.kext not causing panic but in combo is same KP. I think that there is something wrong with 10.12.5 upgrade as mach kernel is mentioned in Panic Report. Tried to upgrade again with combo 10.12.5 update with igfx and lilu injected to library/ extensions but no success.

I could be wrong but intelgraphicsfixup.kext is probably not getting loaded, as it requires Lilu to do so?
You can check this with System Information > Software > Extensions to see if it's loading or not.

Also, have you tried it in S/L/E? I've read that Lilu needs to be loaded as early in the boot process as possible.

Still no solution yet with my Intel 530 HD Graphics but here's an update:
  • Lilu.kext 1.1.5 and IntelGraphicsFixup.kext 1.1.5 (both the latest as of this post) continue to cause a kernel crash and enters a reboot loop, preventing the system from actually booting up. Removing these 2 kexts prevents the loop but the boot process stalls.
  • I was able to boot into my system again but there are no graphics acceleration.
    • using my boot usb I was able to boot into the system after I removed my hard drive as one of the bootable drives in my BIOS
    • After the installer started, I started the terminal instead of continuing the installer
    • From the terminal I cd into /Volumes/Sierra/Library/Extensions and rm -rf Lilu.kext and IntelGraphicsFixup.kext
    • Restarted and from the USB booted my Sierra drive
    • Updated clover to 2.4 r4097
    • Now I can boot without the usb drive BUT every time clover starts on boot up I have to go to Graphics Injector->InjectIntel and set FakeID to 0x12345678

I mean, I'm glad I can get back into the system but without the graphics accelerator usage is far from optimal. Still looking for a more permanent solution.

Installing both kexts to S/L/E instead leads to the same result
