Is anyone else having an issue where, on first boot, you'll get a KP or a reboot, but then will boot completely the 2nd or 3rd time? I need to figure out how to grab a log of the boot sequence (what you'd normally see when you boot verbose) so I can figure out where it's having a problem :banghead:

Hello everyone! I built my first hackintosh ever with kinda the same setup as QkY. I used macOS Sierra 10.12.3 and tried to use a Samsung 960 EVO as a boot disk, but I had the same problem that many of us are experiencing: the 960EVO wasn't recognised by Sierra installer. I ended up using another SSD I had to install the OS and boot the computer, but I'm still trying to figure this thing out. Anyone managed to solve the problem on Sierra installer and make the Samsung SSD available?
QkY, are you planning to finish updating the guide soon? I can return the 960EVO to Amazon until March 30th in case I can't figure it out, but I really hope to solve the problem! Please let me know :)

You might want to take a look at this post - the guy's a little shady, but his system is booting 10.12.3 successfully off a Samsung 960 Pro ...
:headbang:

I'm using integrated graphics, 11.6 and bios F21. that guide is for dedicated graphics and doesnt say which version of el cap or the bios its using. I'm not able to get to the installer from Clover. I've been trying for a few months and I always get the same 1 or 2 error messages (2 lines and a series of plusses then shutdown) . I'm not sure what I've done wrong.
Just curious as to your compelling reason for wanting to go El Capitan vs. Sierra... Also, it would help us troubleshoot your issues if you would also list your hardware components. Since you didn't list those in your original post, there was no way we could know that you were wanting to use IGFX vs. dedicated GPU.

Regardless of EC or Sierra, the BIOS settings that QkY uses should be good for either OS...and always a good idea to have latest version of the BIOS on your build. It's fairly rare that a build recommendation would use a version of the BIOS that is not the most recent. Have you also tried some of the basic troubleshooting things like 1) trying a different USB port, 2) using a different USB flash drive. Also, are you using UniBeast to build your installer USB drive, or straight-up Clover? Again, it's really hard to help you troubleshoot when we don't have very much info. Thanks!

Hi guys,

First of all a BIG thanks to you all that help us making more easier each day, to make a hack ;-)

INFO : my actual system is Designare F21, i7 6700k, intel graphics, 32gb RAM 2400mhz, Samsung PRO 840 SSD
Apple wired keyboard, Logitech Mouse.

I'm stuck with a issue i never seen :

When choosing language at the first screen after booting on the Sierra unibeast key, i stay stucked in the same screen, the little arrow is grayed when i click on it, then...nothing...

Tried to modify the usb port i use with the key (black or blue it's the same)
Tried to unplug all other hard drives and modify the sata port of the one i'm using.

Info : I'm trying to install on a Samsung PRO 840 SSD, that contains a previous mac os (from an other hackintosh).

Do you have an idea?

I followed all was written in the guide (not for nvme HD as i don't have any)

Thanks in advance for your help

Romain

If it were me, I'd wipe the SSD clean & not try to install your fresh macOS over the top of something else (esp if it's a new machine). Also, once you click the language option & select "Continue," sometimes it takes 15-20 seconds for the install wizard to actually progress to the next step. If none of that works, I'd re-build your Unibeast key again, but use a different flash drive. Good luck & keep us posted!

Hi @BoomR thanks for your constant help ;-)
I did reformat clean my SDD with no luck.
I'm actually trying to rebuild my unibeast key.

While waiting I tried again and could get that message, after moving the mouse (making the stucked language screen disappear-it seems like a bug-) and clicking on the rulers to et this "journal of the error"

What do you think about ?
In the fifth line you can see error around "language" but for me it's non-understandable...

Ok Guys,

I tried installing El Capitan because of my issue with Sierra, and i could reach the installer.

Everything runs OK except minor things :

- 1 TB port worked once, after rebooting 2 times with the TB peripheral connected and powered on, but doesn't work since...
I will check it deeper and let you know

-
Sound I/O weren't present at the first reboot after Mbeast install, then, since 2nd reboot, works pefectly

- Had to use CloverConfigurator to fix SHUTDOWN issue (computer was rebooting instead of shutdown)

I will retry Sierra unibeast when rebuilded
