Adding/Using HiDPI custom resolutions

I'm becoming a pain in the ass, i know but I either don't really understand this 100% or my tv is crazy and can't accept hidpi resolutions above 1080p. By adding the native resolution of 3840 x 2160 that means adding it as a normal resolution without the hidpi or as hidpi? Doesn't the native resolution come from edid? Because if i select "best resolution for this monitor" in the settings, it defaults to 1080p.

Basically i added 3008x1692(hidpi) + 6016x3384(hidpi) to the plist and you can see in the picture that i can see them with rdm or switchresx but 3008 is blurry and shitty, it's clearly not scaled down 3840x2160 and i don't know if switchresx report is accurate but if it is, basically it somehow confirms my theory.

Did you patch the framebuffer correctly for HDMI?

Sorry if my pc info gave any false info but i'm on gtx 950. The frambuffer patch is for intel hd, right? I only applied the clock pixel patch.

Just followed all the steps and created all well.
But in SySpref-Display it just say 1920x1080- 1600x900 . If i select 1920x1080 i see sharpen but too much small everithing. 900p look very good but its too much blurryed

Getting your Nvidia to work properly is off-topic here.
This thread is specifically for using HiDPI resolutions and can only be done after your system is already working at native resolution.

You should open a separate thread in the appropriate desktop forum.

You see HiDPI option for your 1600x900 option? If not, then you made a mistake.

HiDPI resolutions work fine for me with RDP. But when I put my file into /System/Library/Displays/Contents/Resources/Overrides I can't open display preferences from Settings. I get Preferences error.
Anyone else experienced it too?

EDIT: I figuret it out.
I used this https://comsysto.github.io/Display-...or-with-HiDPI-Support-For-Scaled-Resolutions/ but when specifying HiDPI resolutions I had to put it twice. One resolution 2x double of needed one (but selected as HiDPI). So for 2 HiDPI resolution I need to put 4 resolutions. Then I copy generated file to proper location and everything works great even Setting panel for displays.

BTW. I found the best resolution for 15,4" ProBook 640G1 - 1680x945. Because I'm used to 1680x1050 on my 15" MacBook Pro retina.
