Did you also select 100 series audio in Multibeast ?

Yes, you can. They both need to be selected to get your audio working.

Worked!!!! While I don't understand how I am getting sound, it is working. I am using the 3.5mm green colored jack from the Line Out of my computer to the Line in of my BenQ monitor, but I have to set the sound output in MacOS settings to Digital Out (HDMI) to hear anything. Curious if I can use an HDMI cable to transfer sound only from motherboard to monitor? Thoughts? Will that work?

You'll need to start a new thread in Post-Installation Audio. This has gotten off topic from Buying Advice. Glad to hear it's working.

Success!!! This thing is lightning fast and I am so happy with the build. Thanks again TRS96 for all the help. See you in another forum!

Hey there I just wanted to chime in and say that this build looks great. I actually just ordered nearly the very same list of equipment with a couple exceptions. I ordered a 650w PSU based on the build guide recommendation.

I have not ordered a GPU yet because I'm a little confused about what's appropriate. Most of my usage is Lightroom and Photoshop with a smattering of 4K in FCPX mixed in (but not much, honestly). My Lightroom usage is mostly working with 50+ megapixel RAW files - my working catalog is about 200GB and that's just the *preview* data, not the image files themselves. That's approx 2TB.

On to my questions:
1. I see that you ordered the GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 980Ti 6GB G1 GAMING OC EDITION video card. Is this a good choice for me? Can multiples be used to increase the performance?

2. Can I use the EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB instead? There are two on my local Craigslist going for $300 each so I'll scoop them both up if multiples are worthwhile and they're compatible.

edit: I have an LG 31MU97 running at DCI 4K (4096x2160) if it matters. Every now and then I play games on Steam but it's pretty rare.

If all you're doing primarily is lightroom and photoshop and a small amount of video editing 1 of the 980 Ti is plenty. macOS does not recognize SLI configs so two GPUs is overkill in your situation. Yes the EVGA version should work after you install the Nvidia web drivers.

Couldn't be happier with this build and would highly recommend it. Everything is working and it feels like I am on my old iMac from 2010, only this is lightning fast with a 32" 4k monitor. I went with the Fenvi FV-T919 Wifi/Bluetooth adapter and it worked seamlessly without drivers, just plug and play. I went with refurbished apple keyboard and magic mouse and it detective them as soon as I powered on. The GTX 980Ti is plenty for 4k video work in my opinion and I do not think you need two of them. But if they are 300 for both, get them. I'll post some pics soon on my build. Very little issues getting it going and this is my first PC build/Hackintosh every. Mod TRS96's advice was all spot on.

I know this isn't precisely the right thread but I can't ask this directly since I don't have a high enough post count yet.

I built essentially this same machine last night and almost everything is working except for the USB3 ports. I was wondering if you had gotten yours to work and if so how you did it. I only ask here since our systems are essentially identical.
