Thanks for the reply. Again, sorry for having to ask, but which steps in your guide should I follow to update the clover install?

Id make a sierra unibeast before updating (or just clover on a flash drive with the unibeast settings for sierra). Then after updating boot from your sierra usb and then update your clover install to reflect the settings from this guide for post install

Hi, I follow scrupulously your guide ( El capitan and Sierra).

And I have similar hardware, but just after the "PCI configuration Begin" in the boot sequence, i have a reboot.
Same for El Capitan, and i have no access to Yosemite...

On my SSD, windows 10 is already installed ( i downloaded El Capitan and Sierra via vmware on W10). The problem can come from him ?

Thank you for you amazing work !

My build :
GIGABYTE GA-X99-UD5 (Motherboard)
Intel Core i7 5960X (Cpu)
32GB Hyper X Fury DDR4 2666 RAM (Memory)
GTX 970-OC 4GB (Graphics Card)
Samsung 850 Pro 500 GB SSD
(3) Western Digital Green 1 TB (Hard Drives)
Corsair Air 540 (Computer Case)
Corsair RM750 (Power Supply)
Corsair H60 (Cpu Cooler)

You need to patch kernel and add fake cpuid i think. Do a search on 5960x that one is more tricky than 5820k

Just an update to this thread. Performance for video editing is pretty strong. Editing 4k on macos vs windows, with the same effects @ full res windows plays choppy while macos runs it smooth. No transcoding on clips they are h264 mp4 straight from the camera in 4k. Happy that i can edit such a compressed format with no slowdown at 4k full res. I wasnt getting this kind of performance before sierra, i think computer is actually using the full power of my system now

Also there was a gui lag in pro tools 11 under el capitan that is gone now that i upgraded to sierra. Somehow upgrading has fixed it. Running same version of pro tools only thing that changed is version of macos. Sierra seems like the best version yet.

Error : Mac Os not jet set ( 14.2 )

It didn't want to upgrade for some reason, maybe because I had it as a 2009 Mac Pro on the El Capitan version? Did a fresh install and it's working great. Definitely seems to be handling more than El Capitan. Don't think I'm alone in saying these guides are very much appreciated. Thanks very much.

One more thing to ask, in my 'About This Mac' overview, it's still stated that the processor is 3.3 GHz, even though I've overclocked as explained in the guide. Is this normal?

yes I believe so. I think you would have to change the speed displayed manually in clover. Even in windows a 4.3 ghz overclock won't show unless your checking real time cpu speeds. Because the processor is identified as a 3.3ghz processor thats what it shows, but that doensn't mean its running at 3.3 (since its unlocked). All you have to do i think is change the speed displayed within clover I think. If not it doesn't matter your still getting 4.3 try running a geekbench then again with the stock clock, youll see a large improvement in speed

@malki is your power management working or are the fans running higher than normal?
I can't seem to figure out how to get PM working on my 5930k.
