macOS Sierra PB: Need testers for new AMD Radeon drivers!

I Guess i do not need to buy one, I have two graphic cards compatible with mac, The Radeon 4550 & Geforce 8400 GS both support pci express but I did not try ever to boot up with two graphic cards in my motherboard (GA-h55ms2),
so is it safe to plug the geforce 8400 gs in the PCI Express 2.0 and boot with inject Nvidia then plug my DVI into my AMD rx ?

Not sure, mixing the Nvidia and AMD graphics is unusual, the 5450 will open up the door for the RX in the integrated graphics phenomena that plagues Sierra. Let us know if the invidia AMD works.

I'm now using the FakeSMC approach (from this post). Also had to add AMDBaffinGraphicsAccelerator with 0x67DF1002 (like in AMDRadeonX4100.kext) to IOKitPersonalities to get acceleration. As expected it only works with the 10.12.1 betas. 10.12 reaches what I can only guess is the login screen, but the graphics are garbled. I can see a rectangle reflecting mouse movement and FWIW it seems accelerated. :D

What about using the Gigabyte Radeon 4550 1 GB that I already have ?
so the rx in pci x16 and the 4550 in the pci express 2.0 ?
and the bottom line is that i don't have two pci x16 just one and a pci express 2.0 (as the pic of my board)
so does it work that way ?

Did some benchmarks with Unigine Valley and Heaven, and with Luxmark 3.1. No experience with that so just tried a bunch of different settings. Any other settings or benchmarks that could be interesting?

On another note, OpenGL Extensions Viewer quits unexpectedly on open now. Only changes are updating it to 4.5.0 and using FakeSMC over system kext patching.

I've tried changinging my 5450 to the pcie2 slot and the RX to slot 1 but had no luck. Have you tried the FakeSMCkext method, or are you following it? That may lead to dedicated graphics at some point.

I went into Graphics device policy and opened config map. My board was not covered with a configX. I added config1 to it and now OpenGL viewer has a lot more AMD and Intel FBs listed.ID ASSIGN GFXO1.png

I want to thank Mork Vom Ork for showing us this ability to use FakeSMCkext, this is awesome. Later I will try using on public 12.0 download.

P.S. The beta2 12.1-2.1 has 67FF10002 support, I switched to DF and I have acceleration. So all 3 IDs are now getting support in 4100kext. 67eo, 67ff, 67ef are all linked to acceleration at this point. I tried the FF definition before to no avail so this is good they have three models in mind for this kext.

FakeSMC.kext.zip For 12.1 beta. Have you signed up for the Beta program? IMG_2156.JPG
Try using this FakeSMCKEXT and look for your board definition. If its not listed in device policy/configmap you can add it and assign GFX1, or 2 as shown with other board IDS.

FakeSMC.kext 4000kext.zip
Here's the ZIP for the Sierra Public Launch 12.0 version with the 4000kext. try plugging this into EFI Clover Kext folders 10.11, 10.12?, and Other by replacing the existing ones you should already have there. Rename it on desktop by removing the 4000kext and space between.

Well I need to upgrade, asap! and my main use is going to be FCPX and then Adobe CC. should I switch to AMD(which one? rx460? or 470?) or should I stick to Nvidia?

P.S:I don't care if before boot screen I'd have black screen.

The AMD RX 480 works as well and from my testing it runs better benchmarks than the 470. If your looking into doing graphic rendering the RX cards are using 30bit 10,10,10, color versus the 32 bit 8,8,8 scheme from the past. Was able to get a "integrated crossfire" setup using 2 rx cards which doubled my Luxmark score from 12000 to24000. This is future proofing your graphics capabilities if its important to you. For gaming you may want a 980ti, or Titan once Nvidia gets driver's working. RX "*Native support", or Nvidia drivers? Tough call.
If you get an Rx card pick one up that is working for others, there may be some that just can't get support at this time.
