Everything works fine on my build (mac looks amazing at 21:9) the only thing I havent got working its the ethernet port.

I'm connected the ethernet next to the USB-C not the one above it and in the network setting I get Not Connected and Cable Unplugged as the status.

Any ideas? (its plugged in dont worry ive tried that)

Hi, I'm trying to build my first Hackintosh using this guide, but I keep failing.

I can't get to the OS X Installer, when I select "Install OS X from External" with -v it says

"This version of mac os x is not supported on this platform! Reason: Mac-65CE76090165799A"

I've tried with the other config.plist (For Nvidia graphics: View attachment h170n-wifi-nvidia-config.plist ), the one recommended for nvidia graphics (even though I don't have a GFX card) and it goes a little further, I shows the Apple logo, and then reboots. If I use -v flag it says:

OsxAptioFix2Drv: Starting overrides for System\Library\CoreServices\boot.efi
Using reloc block: no, hibernate wake: no
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

And then reboots.

Can you please point me in the right direction, I've read a lot of threads, but can't find anybody with the same issue.

My specs:
MB: Gigabyte H170N-WIFI
Processor: Intel Core i5-6500
RAM: DDR4 16Gb
HDD: SSD Samsung EVO 250Gb

Thanks!!

I have the same specs but can't get to the Installer, could you post your config.plist file here? Thanks a lot!

Did anyone get "wake" to work using this guide? I cannot get my pic to wake after sleep. I read that Intel 530 graphics have wake issues but I am using a GTX 950 and read it should work with it.

I had same issue as well. Only workaround was to check the box "Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off"

I'm also following Snazzy's Lab build, (i5-6500, GA-H170N-WIFI, IGPU only)
But I've got 8 GB RAM (2133 MH/z) and my WIFI adapter is disconnected.
now, I've followed the guide 100%, and when i try to boot to the installer, once at 50% of the progress bar, my screen goes black and my monitor is going to sleep.

I've tried to disconnect and reconnect the display,
I've tried to modify only the USBInjectAll kext and not the profile
Nothing.

I'm trying to install OSX 10.11.5

my verbose output, one moment before my screen went black is attached
any help is super welcome.

I built the SnazzyLabs computer too, and had what sounds like the same problem on the first progress bar of the USB bootup. For me, the answer was found in message #373 in this thread. I was using the DVI video connector. The post recommended using the HDMI video connector. I did that, and *poof* success.

I didn't run into that problem, the only problem I had was that I could see the installer progress bar, but there was no progress. My fix to the problem was going into Clover Option and adding nvda_drv=1 to Boot Args:dart=0

Since this is my first time building a Hackintosh, all I can suggest is re-prepare your bootable USB Drive.

I did not need to use my WiFi connector until I finished the Post-Installation Configuration. Also maybe double check that your computer parts are the proper ones.

Hope it works out!

Thanks a lot, it's true that I use the DVI port, but my answer was to create the installation drive with unibeast and that's all!
I didn't replace the config file or the usb fix and it just works for me.
Of course, after the installation had to do the full post installation, but for the installation? just create the drive and go.

I have a display problem. The old Mac Mini that my GA-H170N-WIFI build was supposed to replace had two displays connected to it. A 1600x1200 20" secondary and a 1920x1200 24" primary.

I wonder now if there is any way to use two displays effortlessly (or at all) with this build.

I could buy an Nvidia card if you can suggest one that 1) only takes one slot (my Thermaltake Element Qi case only has one on the back) and 2) works with vanilla drivers. The second one is negotiable, the first one is not.

Or I could buy just one new display and be happy with it. I assume I can run a 2560x1440 resolution 27" display from the HDMI? What about 3440x1440 resolution 34" 21:9 displays? And what about 3840x2160 quad HD displays? What is the biggest resolution that supports 60 Hz refresh rate? And does 24 Hz or 30 Hz matter in desktop usage?

Hi guys,

It seems to install, but only showing 8gb ram, have two 8gb installed on a z170n wifi board. Bios sees 16gb. Any idea why and how I can fix it?

thanks
